"Adrianna, can you serve that guy over there? I'm a little busy." spoke Taylor.
Adrianna and Taylor had been best friends for as long as they could remember, they were practically sisters. It had always been Taylor and Adrianna's dream to own a bar together. Currently, however, they were just working at The New Quarter - a bar just on the edge of the French Quarter of New Orleans. They shared a dream of working their way up to eventually taking over The New Quarter and making it their own, or buying their own place all together.
Making her way over to the man Taylor gestures to, Adrianna scraped her long brunette hair into a rushed ponytail. "What?" She snapped whilst giving the bar a quick once over before throwing the cloth over her shoulder.
"Thanks for the hostility, love." A sarcastic British voice spoke back. He was handsome with dirty blonde hair and amazing bright blue eyes. A cheeky grin sat on his lips as he observed Adrianna's fiesty-ness.
She sighed. "I'm sorry. It's just super busy and it's giving me a headache." Adrianna closed her eyes momentarily, took a deep breath, and opened her eyes with a refreshed and obviously fake tone. "What can I get you?" She asked politely.
Usually, Adrianna enjoyed the business of the bar - It kept her on her toes. But that was when there used to be a minimum of four members of staff on the bar at all times. Now, they were reduced to two at a time which made Adrianna feel like pulling her hair out on the busy days.
The man didn't respond to Arianna's false politeness. Instead, he leaned back in his chair, smirking. He kept his stare as he watched her grow more impatient with every second he refrained from speaking. Adrianna held the eye contact, irritation spreading across her face as she raised an eyebrow at him as if to say SAY SOMETHING THEN. He was finding this incredibly amusing.
"Tell me..." He cleared his throat slightly before continuing. "What are your plans for when you're finished here..." He paused briefly, looking at her name badge "...Adrianna" he smirked.
Adrianna rolled her eyes again in frustration. She had worked in this bar for years she was no stranger to being hit on by lonely men.
"I'm not wasting my time here, let me know when you're ready to order something." Adrianna scoffed as she turned to walk away.
"Awww come on sweetheart, don't be like that!" The man said playfully. Adrianna turned to look at the man sat slouched in his chair at the bar. She noticed the expression on his face and it became very apparent how much he was enjoying teasing her, getting under her skin. He knew how frustrating he was being and he enjoyed it.
She took another deep breath, deeper and more calming than the last. "Look, I am super busy right now. So if you want to order something, here I am. I would be more than happy to get you a drink. If you don't want to order something, leave. I don't have time to sit around talking to customers, I have a job to do." She spoke harshly and confidently.
The man didn't say anything else and with that, Adrianna gave him a quick nod of acknowedgement and proceeded to serve other customers.
The man was impressed at her sharp tongue. He remained silent as his eyes took in every feature that lay perfectly on her face, watching her interact with other customers. The stray hairs falling from her pony tail fell perfectly framing her round face, her beautifully dark eyes glistened as they held a whole sea of emotion. Her plump, rose stained lips made it impossible to not imagine how they felt. He would of been happy to gaze at her all day, lapping up every bit of beauty this girl had to offer.
Once the bar had quietened down a little, the man watched as stress began to leave Adrianna. She could finally catch her breath, and he saw a perfect opportunity. "Would you like to go out with me some time, love?"
