Klaus
It's been a few days since I've seen Adrianna. A few days since I protected her. It felt good to protect her and make her feel safe.
Why is there this weakness I have for her?
I've not known her long, but I feel drawn to her and like I must protect her. I can tell she appreciates me protecting her, and that just makes me want to do it more.
I figured it was a good idea to distance myself for a while. I couldn't let myself have these sorts of feelings. I have a city to run. I can't let myself get distracted. I'm Klaus Mikaelson for god sakes!
If information I had a weakness for a woman (a human!) got around and ended up in the wrong hands, that could be detrimental to the peace in my city. Or worse, the peace in my family.
Some might say I have a lot of enemies. Now of course, their hatred towards me means nothing to me. Hating me doesn't kill me. They know I am so much stronger, and they're best of hating me from a distance than trying to do anything about it. But if they have information on me like that, I can't guarantee Adrianna wouldn't end up hurt.
I enjoyed protecting her, so that's what I would do. In order for me to protect her, I have to distance myself from her.
Despite all this talk about not letting myself fall for her, my mind could not be pulled away from her.
The way her dark brown hair fell perfectly over her shoulders and the way she moved full of life whenever she walked.
The way she would smile and her small dimple would peek out just enough to make you smile yourself.
The way her beautiful dark brown eyes captured yours in their gaze, drawing you in further.
The way she wasn't afraid to stand up for herself. She was so intriguing, and I wanted to know more.
But I couldn't let myself know more.
My thoughts were interrupted as my brother entered the study in a panic. As he poured himself a drink of whiskey, he began to speak.
"I have just been informed of a vampire coming to visit town."
I stood up, focused and slightly confused. "I don't see the problem, brother. As long as he is no threat to us or to the order we have in this city, I say he is welcome." A mischievous smirk played on my lips as I watched Elijah down his drink is one.
He placed it on the table and turned his attention back to me. Elijah was always so serious. He could do with lightening up.
"Well you see Niklaus, there is the problem. He has no intentions of respecting our rules."
Before I knew it a chuckle left my mouth in disbelief. "Elijah, we are the originals. We have a whole army of vampires, and we are in an alliance with the wolves and witches. A single vampire who we have never even heard of is no threat." I leaned against the table, feeling relaxed.
My brother sighed. "He is not alone. He has his own army of vampires and witches. He has sent us a message that regarding we respect his wishes we will remain in peace." He paused, then continued. "He wants to meet for a chat to speak with us about these wishes."
I took a sharp inhale of breath. "Then let's meet for a chat." I chirped.
"Get some vampires to stand by. We don't know how large his so called 'army' is." My tone ever so slightly serious.
Elijah nodded. He turned and began to leave the study, but stopped at the door. Pausing for a few seconds, then turning to look at me with a slight amused expression on his face.
