Adrianna

I woke up to loud beeping filling the room. It enhanced the piercing pain I felt in my head. Whenever I drank alcohol, even the tiniest bit, i'd get the worst headache the following day.

I turned off my alarm and dragged myself out of bed. I had no effort for work today. I considered calling in sick - This headache was horrible and I knew it would make me cranky to customers, but I hated taking days off from work.

I stomped into my bathroom, making it a point to rush past my mirror. I didn't need to see my reflection to know I looked less than okay. I quickly stripped myself and climbed into the steamy shower.

The scorching water attacked my body, making my skin burn. It was nice.

I closed my eyes and allowed my thoughts to wander. They decided to wander back to the brother I met last night.

~~~~~~~~~~
"I do hope my brother isn't being too much of a bother?" A deep, playful voice came from behind Klaus. He had a similar accent to Klaus, but it was different and I couldn't quiet put my finger on it.
Both of their accents sounded very old fashioned.
As Klaus stepped to the side, I saw a man standing tall, dressed in a beautifully tailored black suit. He had dark brown hair, dark eyes and a gorgeous strong bone structure. His eyes studied me slowly from head to toe. I watched as they made their way back up my body landing on my eyes, causing my breath to hitch in my throat. This man was gorgeous. A mischievous smile spread across his lips, almost like he could hear my heart beating quicker under his stare.
I guess cheeky smirks run in the family.
I shook myself from my trance, and coughed slightly, clearing my suddenly dry throat.
"Oh no, not at all." I managed a small smile and looked down at the drink in my cup. I felt so uncomfortable.
Who were these two beautiful men talking to me? Why did I have their attention? I had assumed Elijah's intense glare was fuelled by a brotherly rivalry - He was doing it to annoy Klaus.
"You'll have to excuse my brother, Adrianna, He likes to portray me as a beast who can do no good." Klaus joked, obviously annoyed.
A beast? That's a bit of a strong word, I thought.
I raised my eyes, looking at the two brothers through my eyelashes. They were glaring at each other. I watched closely, glancing between the two of them. It felt like time had stood still. It looked as though they were trying to communicate telepathically. You could see the tension building up between the two brothers.
There was clearly some sort of issue between these two, and I didn't want to get in the middle of it.
Elijah quickly turned his attention to me, his expression softening and his mouth turning up into a small smirk.
He took a step closer to me, reaching for my hand. My breathing picked up again as that familiar stomach turning feeling returned. The smell of his cologne filled my nostrils as he gently raised my hand to his lips, planting a sweet kiss on the back of my hand. My lips parted, watching him. My eyes were locked on his.
I caught Klaus' gaze out the corner of my eye, watching my reaction to his brother intensely.
"A pleasure to meet you, Adrianna. I do hope we speak again." He said softly. My hand still being held lightly in his.
As he walked by me, he placed my hand back down by my side. I felt a finger gently graze over my hip as he passed. I slowly let out a breathe I didn't know I was holding in. He left my stomach feeling twisted and knotted.
I didn't understand why. I didn't want to find out why.
As intriguing as Elijah was, I thought it best to keep my attention off of him.
As I walked into work, I heard the smash of a glass. My eyes shut tightly as I inhaled sharply.
Already, people were annoying me.
I looked towards the bar to see Taylor on her knees quickly sweeping up broken glass, she seemed irritated.
"Everything alright, Tay?" I asked, walking over to her.
"Yes, fine!" She snapped back. I was only asking. I looked at her with my eyes widened in shock at her rudeness. She looked up at me and sighed. Getting up off of her knees, she brushed off any dust and dirt off of her legs and hands.
"I'm sorry, Ade. Yeah, I'm fine. Just had an argument with Joe, that's all." I nodded to show my understanding. I didn't know what to say, I'd never been in a serious adult relationship so I never had an argument with a boyfriend.
Taylor and joe had been together for almost 4 years, they were constantly in that honey moon phase. Constantly head over heels In love with each other.
Relationships didn't interest me. I was happy being on my own. I lost my grandma and my brother, that was enough heartache for a life time. I didn't want to experience actual love heartache - it wouldn't be worth it.
"Anything I can help with?" I asked. Stupid question I know, but I didn't know what else to say. She shook her head no as her eyes fell to the broken glass on the floor.
"I wanted him to come and stay at my parents with me next weekend, but he made up some bullshit about how he's busy at work. He's never busy at work, Ade." She shook her head in confusion. "He can get time off whenever he wants, and most of the time he doesn't even work weekends anyway!"
I looked around, hoping to find some sort of inspiration for a reply. It was hopeless. She looked up at me waiting for a response.
"Well maybe he really is busy, Tay." i replied, pathetically. She shot me a glare.
"Don't take his side!" She warned, causing me to put my hands up in defence.
"No, no, I'm not. I'm just saying he might actually be busy. He loves you to pieces and that's obvious, I don't see why he'd make that up." She sighed at my response and looked down. Her face looked sad.
I wish I had been in this position before, or even something similar, so then I could give some actual advice or actually comfort her properly. But I really had nothing to go off. I was completely hopeless when it came to things like this.
I placed a hand on her shoulder softly, in some effort of comforting her. It hurt me to see my best friend upset. I just wish I could help.
