As sun rise approached; my gaze laid on my now scabbed, sore knuckles. Letting out a loud huff I left the hut, deciding to find Omar who has been in training since I got back.I stalked out of the hut, my frustration towards my sister towards this war evident on my face. I sighed seeing the familiar figure of my friend, speeding up my pace I rushed forward.
"Omar." I whispered happily, coming up right behind him.
He turned immediately upon hearing my frail voice. His bright blue eyes wide as he took in my features, scanning my body. He was looking at my bruises. My smiled faded apparently it had got around that Lincoln and I were tortured. Biting my lip I moved my eyes from his, looking around uncertainly. I didn't want to think about it.
"Rhea." He rasped. His large hands clasping around my shoulders pulling my eyes back to his crystal ones.
My heart clenched at the pain in his voice. His eye brows were furrowed with worry as I felt his stare drop to my bruised cheek. A low growl left his chest as he realized what he heard was true.
"Are you okay? Ill make them pay Rhea, I promise." He spat out before pulling me into a tight hug.
In his familiar embrace I started to cry. So weak. I should have told him about my panic attack but I didn't have the heart to. He'd become even more upset. My shaky hands wrapped around his back, as I let my emotions give into his shoulder. Quiet sobs wracked my body as Omar held me to him. I missed this. His hugs.
We stayed like that for awhile. He knew I needed it, he knew what I had to go through. He began to rock on his heels trying to soothe my quiet wailing further. Back and forth. Back and forth.
"I know Anya is forcing you to go today.. My post is next to your horse so don't worry." He whispered into my tangled mass of hair.
I just nodded, grateful. He always looked out for me. I needed it. He used to be good friends with a women named Fira. He always told me she was my God Mother. Sadly she, like my parents were taken by the mountain. But Omar vowed to her that he'd watch out for me, protect me. I couldn't be any more grateful for him, or the mysterious Fira for looking out for me.
As if he remembered something Omar back up, pulling my forearm in his hand. I looked at him confused before he began to speak.
"There's someone I want you to meet." He said softly, before leading us away into the heart of the village.
I just nodded blindly, letting him lead me. I wonder who it was. I already knew of most the village, they knew of the bleeding heart. Small breaths left my mouth as my boots squished down into the dirt.
