Chapter 13

"...and I ran into Louis so he invited me back to his place to see if I was OK." I finish. Emily's face was filled with anger, but it softens when I tell her about Louis.

"Louis seems like such a nice guy, not a lot of people you've only known for like three weeks would do that. Look, I know you said you were going to sort out Chloe by yourself but now I'm getting involved. There is no way she, or anyone else, is going to get away with doing that to my best friend." She rants, shaking her head with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Trust me, I'm not stopping you this time. There are girls in my class that are 'directioners' and they think I practically have Niall killed."

"We'll sort it out in school tomorrow." She assures.

"Emily, there is no way I'm showing my face in school tomorrow. I need time to get my head around the fact people know a little about Russell. He's something I like to leave out when I introduce myself."

"If you're not going in then I'm not." I was going to argue with her, but I'm going to be realistic here, what's the point?

Her phone buzzes, making her face crack into a huge smile. Zayn. I have to play dumb though, I can't know about this, Zayn trusts me. I need to make this convincing.

"Who ya texting?" I ask like a five year old girl, trying to look at the screen of her phone. I only see a glimpse of it as she hides it quickly. Not quick enough for me to see 'Zayn<3' though.

"Zayn?! Oh my gosh, Emily!" I yell with a high-pitched voice, nudging her with my elbow.

"Shut up." She mutters, a blush immediately creeps onto her flawless face. Well this is just adorable.

"What's going on here? Why are you keeping this from me?" The amused smile on my face makes her looks at me suspiciously.

"You knew!" She gasps, aiming her index finger at me. I'm still a pretty crappy liar then...

"It's rude to point."

"Maya... Did you set this up?"

"I'm not supposed to tell you this, but he asked me for your number." Oh I feel so guilty, why don't you just tell her about him planning to ask her out too, you ruiner of things.

"Really?" She asks hopeful. She genuinely has it bad for him.

"Yep, over at Louis'." She sighs with relief, the big smile returning to her face.

"So how are you getting on so far?"

"Great! There hasn't been one awkward, nothing-to-talk about moment. We're basically flirting here." She tells me, grinning from ear to ear.

"That's great Em!" I cheer. Her phone buzzes again, there's no point in me trying to take a peak because she practically told me what they were doing. I can't hep but let the curiously fill me as her eyes widen and mouth goes into an 'o' shape as she reads the text.

"What?" I ask, my eyebrows scrunched together. She doesn't take her eyes off the screen of her phone when she answers,

"H-he just asked me to go on a date with him on Saturday..." We sit there in silence for about two minutes before I break it, by acting crazy.

"Oh my fucking gosh! Emily, this is amazing!" I shout gleefully. Finally she does something, she stands up from the sofa, a toothy smile covering her pretty face.
