Chapter 8

Niall stands up quickly from his spot on the sofa, blushing as he stares down at his shoes. I feel my cheeks blaze and I just know my face is as red as a tomato. Slightly awkward if you ask me.

"I-I guess Harry and I should get going since Emily's here now." Niall stutters, not meeting my eyes.

"Erm, yeah. See you some other time, Niall." I try to act brave and look up at him, but I instantly look back down. Obviously not very brave.

Harry and Emily walk in laughing together. I almost forgot that this is the first time they've met, as for Niall too. I mentally thank them for walking in because now it's not just Niall and I.

"You must be Niall." Emily squeals, opening her arms out for a hug. Niall tries to ignore the awkwardness between us and look joyful to meeting Emily. I don't know if she or Harry notice the tension, but it's so obvious to me.

"Finally get to meet you!" Niall grins walking into her hug. She squeezes him tight and pulls back, ruffling his messy hair.

"You're so darn cute!" She coos. Niall laughs a bit, shaking his head. He is adorable now that she points it out. Wait what? Did I actually just say he was adorable? At least I didn't say it out loud, 'cause it's not true.

"We better get going. So lovely to meet you Emily. I'll text you later Maya. Bye." Harry waves, walking out my door. Me and Emily both saying our byes back, Emily saying how great it was to meet him too.

"I see why Liam's proud to say you're his cousin, you're lovely! Glad to meet you Emily, we should talk some other time." Niall smiles showing his perfect white teeth. "Bye Maya." Niall mutters awkwardly going in the same direction Harry did.

"Awh you're so sweet! Bye Niall! Lovely to meet you!" Emily calls after him before we hear the front door close. She then turns to me, her face going serious. "Spill the beans."

Niall's POV

Shit!

Fuck!

I'm an idiot!

Why would I do that?!

Oh yeah, because I'm a fucking idiot!

Harry's blabbering on about how nice Emily is, but I'm not listening. I just can't believe I went to kiss Maya! What if Emily hadn't came in? Maya was leaning in too, which meant we definitely would've kiss. There's no point in asking 'what if' though, that was my only chance to kiss Maya, it's just going to be awkward from here on out.

The only reason she was going to kiss me back was probably because I saved her from her brother. Any other day for any other girl I would've never been able to take on a man the size of Russell, he's huge! But I guess since I do fancy Maya a little bit, my adrenaline got the better of me.

"Niall!" Harry snaps his fingers in front of my face. I break out from my thoughts are realize the car is parked, outside Zayn's apartment.

"Yeah?"

"Erm, I said the guys called and told me to come here." Harry obviously repeating his words.

"Oh alright." I stumble out of the car and follow Harry into Zayn's home.

"I wonder if Louis knows about Zayn and Emily. Louis' the only one who hasn't even met her yet." God, Harry can you please shut up. I just want some peace and quiet to myself right now. I wish I could say that out loud. I just don't answer him, earning myself a frown.
