It has been 3 years since I last caught her gaze. When I left the town I grew up in, I often thought about her shining blue eyes, remembering how they reflected off the sunlight. Whenever she looked at me with those lapis lazuli orbs, one simple smile could melt my heart. I was madly in love with her and I still am.

When I first met her I knew I had found the one. I made a promise there and then to protect her and keep her out of harm's way.

The wind was running in between each blade as if it were being chased by the hot, glowing sun. The tall, yellow grass swayed from side to side in an attempt to avoid the passing gusts of wind that would try to uproot them.

Fresh daisies could be smelt by the furry rabbits that ventured outside their burrow. It was time for their afternoon lunch and they were desperate for a taste.

The sound of laughter was heard by the rabbits that inhabited the meadow.

A boy and a girl were laying side by side on a soft tartan blanket, rolling around in a fit of giggles.

The rabbits guessed that something must've been amusing to the young couple. However, they didn't pay too much attention and carried on with their daily activities of eating and wondering around the vast country side.

When the boy recovered from the laughter, he gazed at the girl with loving eyes. It may have been only a couple of seconds but the passion in his eyes said it all.

The boy quickly glanced somewhere else when the girl looked his way; he seemed like a shy boy who wasn't yet ready to share his feelings.

"I'm glad you showed me this place." The girl spoke softly. To the boy, her voice sounded angelic, as though she had come from the Heavens.

He knew deep down, that he was far too young to love but he felt like she made him a better person and in her absence, he would be nothing.

It took some time for him to conjure up a reply;

"Me too." He said pleasantly. Short but sweet.
