Until one day, Jason mysteriously disappears leaving behind his beloved Esmee.
Unbeknown to her, Jason had left the town he loved and the life he adored in order to protect them...
"Come on Esmee, Hurry up!" My best friend, Alexis howled.
"Alright I'm coming. Just let me fix my makeup." I shouted back.
I was at my mate Mike's house party, hiding in the toilets. The music was blaring loud and cheers could be heard from the many party animals that attended. Thomas, a popular guy from school had asked me out and I didn't know what to say. He was hot and everything but I still hadn't gotten over Jason.
Jason was my first love and he meant everything to me. I thought I was going to spend my whole life with him which I know now was a bit premature.
I often thought of him; his smile that could make any girl melt and dark brown hair that hung down past his eyes. Our relationship didn't end like a normal couples. It wasn't a messy breakup.

All of my friends kept telling me to move on but I couldn't. I still had a small glimmer of hope that I would find him again or he would come back to me. Deep down I knew it was unlikely but I couldn't face the rest of my life without him.
Truth be told, no one knew if he was dead or alive.
"...I WILL BUST DOWN THIS DOOR!" Shouting dragged me away from my thoughts.
"I think it's time to face the music..." I thought to myself.
I slowly opened the bathroom door and found Alex standing there, arms crossed, looking inpatient. Looking at her more closely, I immediately wished I had told her that black wasn't her colour earlier that day but my thoughts were elsewhere.
Alex had been trying out a new black lipstick and looked like she came from something out of a zombie film.

"You've been in there for ages, are you going to answer Thomas' question or not?" She ranted.
"I don't think I want to Alex.. I still haven't moved on from Jason." I answered awkwardly. I wished she would stop hassling me about getting another boyfriend.
"Are you serious? That was three years ago. I know you cared for him but him being missing or whatever is getting you down. You need to let loose and have fun. I'm sorry but if he really cared why isn't he here?" She said smugly.
