'BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!'

"Ughh.." I groan. I roll over and punch the snooze on my alarm clock and try to go back to sleep.

"Ainsley, you better be getting ready up there!"

I sit up and rub my eyeballs and throw the covers off me. "I am mom!" I shout back. I find it so annoying that she can't let me have an extra 10 minutes of sleep. I look back at my alarm clock which now says 6:32. Well, looks like I just lost two minutes of pampering time.

I roll out of bed and head into my adjoining bathroom to take a shower. I do what every girl does when clensing herself, so nothing I really need to get into detail about. I hop out of the shower about 15 minutes later and dry my hair and body off with a fluffy, white towel. I then stride back into my bedroom and put on the outfit I chose last night, because if you want to dress to impress on your first day of school you need to do it the night before.

My outfit consists of light blue capris that are ripped at the knees a little, and a fancy dusty rose colored tank top with sequins and ruffles from American Eagle. I throw on some Sperry's and sit down in front of my mirror to do my makeup.

I dust a light layer of foundation to hide some blemishes and add a shiny nude colored eyeshadow to my lids. I'm not big on wearing dark eyeshadow because I have blueish greenish eyes, and I feel like I can show them off better with lighter colored shadows. I then apply some blush to my cheek bones and a light swipe of the mascara wand to each set of eyelashes.

Once I'm all done I head downstairs taking two steps at a time and head into the kitchen to see what my mom has been doing.

"Hey honey, you look nice. Ready for your first day?"

"Thanks mom, and yeah just a little nervous." I reply. I mean who isn't nervous on their first day?

"Well, that's expected. Now here eat; I made you some eggs." She says laying a plate of cheesy scrambled eggs in front of me.

"Thanks, but no thanks mom. I'll just stick to coffee." I tell her pushing back the plate and moving my way to the coffee machine.

"You're just like your father." She says moving the scrambled eggs in front of her and putting a forkful into her mouth.

I put the steaming mug to my lips and take a sip. "I know. But mom I really got to go now or I'll be late for homeroom."

"Well bye, I hope you have a wonderful first day, sweetie!"

"Thanks mom, I'll try." I say putting the half finished coffee down on the counter and heading out to my car.

The drive to the school isn't that bad. It only takes me around somewhere between 5-10 minutes to see the campus. But finding a parking spot is another problem.

I drive around for about another 2 minutes or so before I find one with a decent walk to the school. I hop out of my car and walk at a considerably fast pace so I have time to get my schedule too. I look at my clock on my phone and realize I have about 10 minutes. So I speed up a little bit.

Once I'm in the school I locate the office and ask for my schedule.

"Uhm, hi. I'm new and I need my schedule, please." I say to the secretary while twiddling with my thumbs. I guess I am a bit nervous, eh?

"Oh yes sure! What is your name dear?" She asks me a little bit too cheery for this early in the morning.

"Ainsley Hayes"

"Oh yes right here! Here you are! Your homeroom is around that corner and to the left."

"Thanks" I tell her and start making my way in the direction she told me.

I don't even try to go and run off to find my locker because I know I'm short on time. Also the hallways are crowded with both upper and lower classmen thinking they can just stand right in the middle of it.

This school has a lot more people than my old one. Speaking of people...

"Ouch" I say as some air headed jock just shoved me against a locker while he plays football in the middle of the hallway.

"Oh hey, didn't see you there. Sorry about that!" He says getting a little flustered

"It was an accident, I understand."

"Yeah again sorry about that. But hey, are you new?" he asks his face going into this weird emotion, which now that I think about it, it was most likely his thinking face...

"Yeah, just trying to get to my homeroom." I say really wanting to get away from this over self tanned and too much hair product jock.

"Well hey let see your schedule!" He grabs my schedule and skims over it. "Looks like I get to walk you to homeroom!" He wiggles his eyebrows at me, probably trying to flirt.

I take back my schedule and being the nice person I am that can't say no, I let him.

"Yeah, sure why not. YOLO right as you would say it?" I say to him, mocking him but he doesn't realize.

"I like you better already.... Wait what's your name?"

"Ainsley, what's yours?"

"Matt, well look we are here." He says pointing to classroom 28.

"Well, thanks for walking me... I guess" I laugh and walk in and take a seat in the back row, while Matt takes a seat by the windows with his guy friends and hoes.

Class still doesn't start for another minute, but that was too close. I like to be punctual but not too punctual. I'm one of those people that get to class half way through the passing period.

While I was having my internal rant, the bell went off signaling you should be in class or you're late. And the teacher showed up.

"Good morn-" The teacher started to say

The door flew open and what walked in was not what I expected.

"Marcel, what's your excuse this time?" The teacher says with no humor laced into her voice at all. It sounded almost as if this was a regular occurrence with this guy.

"Uhm.. My collar was chaffing?"
