I sat back in my seat as I drove bumping along to J Cole. I was tired due to the fact that while mom got called into work Sunday night, Caiah came down with a stomach bug.
Besides his throwing his guts up and fever, he was fine. He stayed how with my mom and I decided to get away by just coming to school.
I pulled into LaGuardia's school parking lot and cut my engine. It was Monday morning and me and morning never connected. I'm lazy as hell and very bothered for no reason.
If someone was to speak, they would get a one word response at the most, unless your my bestfriend Sherika.
I grabbed my iced coffee that I grabbed from Starbucks and my bookbag, throwing it over my shoulder.
I ran my fingers through my Raven locks as they flowed freely. I was wearing a pair of sweats that looked painted on and a 'Just Do It' Nike shirt.
A pair of red and black Jordan's covered my feet.I pushed my glasses up on my face more before walking through the front doors alone with a few other students.
I was walking quickly to my locker so I could get my English book before the bell rang. I was stopped by a body that almost knocked me to the ground.
I regained my balance, my eyes wide. "Watch where your go-"
I stopped when I saw that it was Sherika. She plays entirely too much.
I sighed, "Sherika, are you serious right now?" I asked her, visibly frustrated.
"I was just playing, damn. Why are you so snappy in the morning?" She asked me.
"I'm not snappy." I said as me and her approached my locker. "I'm just tired."
I said to her as I put in my locker combination."From?" She asked, leaning against to the locker next to mine.
"I was up all night watching Caiah. He has a stomach bug." I said and slammed the locker door shut, making sure I grabbed all my notes before locking it back.
"Aww, my poor baby. I hope he gets well soon." She said with her bottom lip poked out slightly.
"You? Me. I haven't gotten any sleep. I'll be glad when this is all over." I said honestly.
"Mhm. But you never told me how that little tutoring date went." Sherika spoke.
I rolled my eyes. "I wish I could. It would be different if I actually got to tutor him."
I felt myself thinking about the whole incident and I became angry again.
"What?" Sherika asked confused.
She looked at me sideways."He was so rude and mean to me. All I did was try and help him." I explained to her.
"Well what happened?" She asked.
I sighed, "what didn't happen. He called me a bitch for one."
Sherika gasped. "A bitch? Oh hell no. You did cuss him out right?" She asked.
I shook my head no. "No.. I just walked out. His mom was so nice and she was hoping I could help. I'm over it though."
"How did you end up tutoring him anyway? You two are not a good match up." Sherika said.
Students passed us as we talked. No one paid us any mind though. I looked to see Meek standing against the lockers with his hand gripping his backpack strap that was on his shoulder. We caught each others glare but I eventually looked away. Even though Meek treated me horribly, I wouldn't put his business out there. He might deserve it, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I looked away but seconds later, I looked back but he was no longer looking. I continued talking to Sherika.
"Mrs. Riley volunteered me. I couldn't say no."
Sherika nodded. "Oh. Well I think you should leave that alone. He's no good, Nicki."
I nodded. "Yeah, you're right." I said as we parted ways just in time for the late bell.

I gripped my bag and made my way to the library. The hallways were for the most part empty. A few students and teachers walked by every once in a while.
I was approaching the doors to the library when someone stopped me.
"Onika." I heard in a deep voice. The touch on my arm startled me and I jumped.
I turned around quickly to see a tall frame hovering above me.
I sighed heavily. "What, Meek?" I asked with attitude.
He ran his hands over his fresh cut and waves. "Look, let me talk to you." He said.
I shook my head. "I'm busy."
"Doing what?" He asked. I stayed quiet. "Exactly."
I sighed. "What do you want? I'm a bitch, remember?" I said with attitude.
"Man, I ain't mean any of that. I was trippin." He said.
I looked away. What surprised me next was when he placed his fingers under my chin, making me look up at him.
I blushed like crazy."I'm sorry, Onika." He said sweetly. He sounded serious.
"You forgive me?" I watched his lips when he talked and when he licked them. I wanted to kiss him so bad. I felt myself getting excited so I looked away and backed up.
"Uh, y-yeah. It's fine." I looked down after stumbling over my words.
He smiled. "Okay. But hey look, come over after school and we can start over."
I looked up and smiled, "Okay. I'll be over at 5."
Meek leaned in to hug me and I accepted. Taking in his scent, I pulled away when someone approached us.
"Meek!" The girl yelled.
Meek looked over at her. "What Paige?" Meek asked obviously frustrated.
I smirked a little at the visible irritation of her presence.
"Who is this? " she asked him but looked me over.
I mean mugged her back.
"Man don't worry about that. You not my girl." He fanned her off.
"You down grading now? This what we doing Meek." Paige asked with a disgusted look.
"Down grading?" I asked with a sarcastic chuckle.
"Everyone knows your a local thot, Paige. We don't even mess with eachother like that, but even if we did, I will never be a downgrade."I felt proud of myself for finally saying something back for a change. I was tired of being quiet and the disrespect and picking will no be tolerated.
"Whatever. You can forget about tonight, Meek!" She said angrily.
I laughed. "I'll see you at 5, Meek." I smiled before entering the library leaving Meek with an angry Paige.
Things are getting more interesting. But ya'll can tell by the title, everything will not be all good and sweet. 😜
