"Single file!" I heard Thalia shout, and my Huntresses surged forward into a straight line, Thalia and I standing together in the front, our Guardian in the back. "Hunters, MOVE OUT!" She yelled enthusiastically, brandishing her bow and beginning to march out of our camp barrier, where I could teleport us to Camp Half-Blood.
My girls all yelled back in response, waving their bows, Clare leading them on. Today, her hair was braided messily down her back, and a streak of it was dyed a silvery blue.
Grinning, I galloped next to my lieutenant, relishing the cool air and exhilarating wind. I shot a few bullseyes in a few old targets we had hung in the forest around camp, and spilt the wood of a few too.
Looking back, I saw Anagenniménos jumping from tree to tree, behind my last Huntress. I inwardly was envious of his agility and speed, but I kept it hidden. He certainly was one of a kind, no other man was like him. He was more talented then me, faster, stronger, and smarter. His abilities with a bow were endless, and Orion was nothing compared to him. I was nothing compared to him.
Ooh! Is Arty thinking about a certain someone? A voice in my head squealed. In inwardly groaned, Aphrodite.
Not now, you whore. I'm busy, and certainly not thinking about anyone other than my Huntresses. So shut your trap and get out of my head! I thought to her angrily, shoving her out of my mind using godly energy.
I came to my senses, realizing that we had passed the border and stood in a large clearing.
"Girls, join hands. Anagenniménos, teleport over there first, and inform them that we shall arrive." I ordered, and Anagenniménos, flashing out while my Hunters came into a circle, Clare and Thalia at my side. I grasped both of their hands, and closed my eyes, imagining all of us dissolving into tiny particles of light, that traveled across the Earth at light speed, before solidifying in Camp Half-Blood. White light filled my eyes kids and I knew that we had succeeded once it faded away.
Opening my eyes to face your neighborhood Centaur, I greeted Chiron and ushered my Huntresses to my cabin, excluding Thalia and Clare, who gave their things to two other Huntresses.
"Lady Artemis, so good to see you. I assume we shall be hosting Capture the Flag on the morrow?" He said politely.
"Yes, thank you Chiron. I take it Anagenniménos has arrived?" I responded.
"Yes. What a polite young chap. You are lucky to have him, Lady Artemis." Chiron said.
"Are you saying that I am weak?" I accused angrily.
"No! Of course not Lady Artemis. You certainly are far from weak. You are simply lucky to have a man who is not a pig, that is what I am implying." Chiron reassured me, his smile a little strained with worry.
I calmed myself. "Ah. I see, my apologizes for acting rashly. Is my pig of a brother here?" I asked. Just a few weeks prior to our visit, Dionysus had once again gotten himself grounded, however this time, only for 50 years.
"Yes. I believe he is still moping around in strawberry fields, Lady Artemis." Chiron answered, suddenly looking very weary. "He is in a terrible mood and state, and has been driving me insane, ironic isn't it?" I chuckled without humor.
"Indeed. I shall be off then, Chiron. I will see you later, I presume?" I said.
"Yes, Lady Artemis." Chiron said, bowing his head. I smiled at him, before pivoting on my heel, skipping off to find Anagenniménos, who I needed to talk to.
"M'Lady!" Thalia cried, halting me in my tracks.
"Yes Thalia?" I asked, turning to face her and Clare.
"M'Lady, if it is alright, we shall be off to the arena, to pay an old friend a visit." Thalia explained, Clare nodding beside her.
"Very well. Off you go." I nodded, before continuing to look for my guardian. Momentarily after jogging off, I heard the familiar yell of triumph from Thalia and Clare, and the also familiar screech of a camper.
This was going to be a long day.
:|Anagenniménos POV|:
"Who the heck are you?" A random camper accused, glaring at me next to his friends. He was tall and red headed, with bright blue eyes and freckles across his nose. With a jolt I realized that this was Jack, the one who had ruined pretty much everything for me. Excluding Annabeth of course.
"Jack, son of Aphrodite. Use your brain. Maybe even ask your mother." I sneered. He growled, and stepped to the side to reveal a nymph, a quite pretty one at that as well. Her skin had a tinge of green to it, and her brown hair was long and with flowers woven into it. Her eyes were a bright pink, and she smiled flirtatiously at me.
"And who might you be?" I asked curtly. She giggled.
"I'm Alicia, Jack's girlfriend. I live in that tree over there. You should tell him who you are, that way he can protect you!" She smirked. I laughed.
"Me? Need protection? Good one, nymph. Well, I certainly won't hang around with you, you definitely don't have a brain if you're dating this dumbass." I snorted. She blushed a dark green and huffed, turning on her heel and stalking off. Jack turned and glared at me.
"Don't talk to my girl that way, you hear me? I'm the best fighter here, you you better know that. Find your place, runt." He sneered. I chuckled again.
"Me? A runt? I singlehandedly beat Lady Artemis in combat, you wouldn't stand a chance."
He turned as red as a tomato. "Well, Artemis must be weak then, because you are a weakling."
I growled. "Do not insult my mistress." I hissed. He paled.
"So you're the guardian they talk about? The strongest warrior? Brought back from the dead? Good riddance." He said with a false air of confidence.
In seconds, I had him in his entire little gang of friends lashed to wooden stakes I had created. "I said, no one insults my mistress."
