Prologue

Mars has always been a planet that we, as humans, have always wanted to walk on and discover the intricacies of. Well who is to say that we are the only ones who want to explore? The first mission to put people on the surface of mars went successfully. No major complications. We were only on the surface for less than five minutes. And to add to the excitement it was the most watched both internet and television program ever. Mostly because that was one of the last.

The next few years were relatively quiet for space travel. Many people were trained to go up into space, and several scientists discovered the secret of traveling faster than the speed of light. Slowly more and more people went up to permanent residence on the Red Planet. Space travel got safer and faster and so did life on the newly colonized planet.

Then one October (Earth Time) a yellow dot appeared on the radars of our outer solar system. It was a ship. Scientist scrambled to get a closer look and communicate with this alien in our newly colonized realm. Our governments prepared for a diplomatic excursion. As the large battleship got closer the humans discovered that it was not ready for diplomacy.

The ship arrived to the surface of Mars and the red spider like creatures poured out and murdered every human in sight. The remaining people on the planet scurried onto the mass transport ship back to earth. Men and women who trained for years just in case of this specific event were called the "Space Corps." Their commander was as hard as steel, his young son was not far off. The battle was short and most of the self proclaimed Protectors of Humanity fled onto their ships. Three of the strongest soldiers remained alive after the bloody battle. The Commander, his young son, and his trustworthy friend Lance.

The murderous aliens crawled back onto their ship and headed towards earth. The Commander was wounded and he slowly passed, only wishing that his son carried on his wish of protecting humanity. The son climbed into the special white suit that had orange marks informing that he was the commander and pushed the gold visor down onto his face.

The surface of the human's home planet was a flurry. People scurrying into transport ships going who knows where. Deep in the surface of the blue planet miners were being rushed out of their holes but they knew that they weren't going to make it. The alien ships were going too fast. One miner, however, had a good feeling about all of this. Not happy necessarily but he knew that he would make it out, alive.

The new commander hopped into his ship and headed quickly for his home planet determined to get as many people out before their fate was similar to the humans of Mars. Lance was close behind. The aliens to our solar system seemed to ignore the mass transport ships leaving, escaping. It seemed that they only had one goal in mind: destroy earth.

The Commander got to the surface just to see the last of the unlucky humans and the Space Corps dying to the hand of the red spider creatures. Lance saw the miners climbing out of their deep hole into the core of the earth only to meet their deaths. The spry man shot many of the genocidal aliens and managed to rescue the one miner with the inch of hope.

The last of the humans climbed into their ships and headed into the direction where the other mass transport ships went. The last faction of humanity looked back at their former home just as it got destroyed. The once rich with life planet was now dry and desolate, whatever they had done to it would have render earth uninhabitable for possibly millions of years to come.

Humanity discovered a large cluster of solar systems and found a new home, a more peaceful home, multiple in fact. Humans fit in well with the other species of life in the Free Space sector of the Galaxy. They repopulated, found a place that was very similar to the science fiction works on the old world.
