I almost immediately burst out laughing. "Really? Is that the best excuse you can come up with for kidnapping me?" I said before bursting out into laughter once more. I felt crazy. I laughed so much I began to cry, but that's when I screamed in pain. " My eyes, my eyes, what did you do to me?" The tears burnt my face as I quickly tried to wipe them off, leaving my vision blurry but quickly focusing. "Thats one of the cons of being a vampire," Arthur said, handing me a tissue. "Everytime you cry it will burn the same way acid burns humans." I looked at him again, trying to think straight. "So wait, you aren't kidding? You turned me into a vampire?" I asked, looking in his eyes. He looked so guilt ridden. I wanted to cry, but now knowing it hurt to do so, I just dragged my legs up to my chest and held myself. "Yes, but I did it to save you. In fairness, you let me." Arthur said. I got up and almost immediately fell back down. "How long have I been asleep?" I turned to Arthur, worry clouding my vision. "For new vampires to fully complete the transition, it takes about 37-53 hours. For you it took 45 hours." Arthur said in the most calming voice. I squealed. "Almost 2 days?!" I screeched "I have to get home!" I tried to walk but zoomed straight into a wall. I got up too fast as well. Arthur was right there holding me up. " Take it easy, sweetheart. Vampires are extremely fast and you have no idea how to control any of your new powers." He said. "DON'T CALL ME SWEETHEART" I roared, zooming out of the house, clumsily but efficiently. I looked around me, noticing we were right outside town. I knew where my house was, in a strange sense. I turned and ran into the woods. I was almost halfway there when a figure ran into me and knocked me off my feet. I turned around to see it was Arthur and another man. It was dark, so I could only make out Arthur's features. "You can't see your family, not like this. Not when you haven't even had anything to drink after your transition." That was when it hit me, the pain in my throat. It was like sandpaper scratching my esophagus. I gripped my throat and sunk to the ground. Arthur started walking towards me and then I took control of my pain. I got back up. "No, I need to tell my mother I'm alright." I shouted, and began running. I trusted my instinct to take over. My throat was throbbing but I just used the pain as fuel.

I reached my house, only to realize I had outrun Arthur and his friend. It seemed to be late but my mother would be up, regardless. I walked up to the door, looked under our fake dead plant, and grasped the spare key. I pushed the key in the lock, only to find out the door was open. My mom and her boyfriend, Richard, were sitting on the couch, engrossed in a conversation. When i shut the door, they focused their eyes and looked at me. Richard was the first one to get up, only to walk over and straight up slap me. My mother screamed. "Where were you?! You had your mother worried sick! We spent thousands of dollars on a search party for you! You are an ungrateful little wh-" Richard stopped mid sentence. I had him 2 feet above the ground, gripping his throat. "Touch me like that again and I-" I dropped him. I froze. I looked at him on the floor, my mother crouching by him. I gaped at his jugular and in a trance-like state, I lunged. I pushed my mother away and felt my teeth rip into his flesh. The sweet red hot blood swelled in my mouth and dug my teeth in deeper. The euphoria was soon ripped away, as I was torn away by Arthur. I looked at Richard, bleeding out on the floor. Arthur was rushing to help him, but it was too late. I heard his heart stop, eyes wide. I covered my mouth and cried, no matter how much it hurt. I deserved this. I deserved pain. I just killed my mothers boyfriend. I couldn't see anymore, thanks to my tears. I felt someone pick me up, and we zoomed out of the house.

...

When we reached Arthur's house, I realized it was his friend carrying me. It was then I first realized how much blood I was covered in. I squealed, horrified. The guy nearly dropped me, but he set me down while holding me up. He was nearly 6 inches taller than me, so I had to crane my neck to look at his face. "Hello, sorry for almost dropping you there, I'm Adrian." He said, reaching his hand out to shake mine. He was acting very calm. "Yes, I'm acting calm because I've had to deal with it myself and with my sister. I understand what you're going through and I'm just trying to be friendly." Adrian said, still holding his hand out. I grasped his hand and shook it. "Well, thank you." I tried saying calmly but sunk down to the ground. My breathing was uneven and I felt the weight of a thousand tons on my chest. Adrian crouched down by me, holding my shoulders. "Here, let me carry you back into the house and we can take it from there." He said, lifting me into his arms with ease. I was still freaking out by the time we reached the room I woke up in. He laid me on the bed and sat beside me. "It's alright, breathe. This isn't anything abnormal, just a panic attack." He said, rubbing my back. It took almost half an hour for me to calm down. I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "Thank you, for helping me. I don't k-know what happened, I got so mad at him. Then I felt the hunger and saw his pulse. I saw his neck and I just don't know what happened to me." I said, taking slow breaths. "It's okay, it was bound to happen. At least it was in an enclosed environment and Arthur can use his advanced persuasion skills to make her forget the night." Adrian said, running a hand through his hair. He started to get up and I grabbed his hand, "Please stay with me until I fall asleep, I don't want to have another panic attack" I pleaded. He smiled warmly at me, and sat on the chair beside the bed. We talked until I fell asleep.
