"'So how was your day, Danny?' 'Oh, it was fine actually! Thanks my best friend who isn't even listening to me!'"Danny and I were laying on my bed. He was talking to himself, while I was trying to decide whether to commit suicide or just live through the miserable day.

That dumb, little puppy snaked his way into my mind, causing me to lose sleep. How dare he get between me and my sleep. It was sick to see him stoop so low and let his wolf take control.

That just shows how out of whack he is! I thought to myself, trying to shove his stupid face out of my memory. Just as I begin to think of something else, his stupid lips on mine pops in my brain!

"Ugh!" Danny groaned beside me. "Your just like a dang love sick puppy! Can't you try and think of something besides that dude right now?"

I rolled my eyes, fighting to keep my thoughts in check.

"I have to figure out how to get out of this mating biz," I told Danny. He rolled onto his belly beside me.

His eyebrows were drawn together and I knew what was coming.

"I thought mating was a whole life thing," yup, said exactly what I thought he was.

I sighed, frustrated. "It is. I just–" my voice cracked. Clearing my throat, I spoke again," I don't want this." I rolled over onto my back and stared at the ceiling, trying to think. My eyes burned as I blinked back tears.

I love you.

"Ugh!" I shot up and threw a pillow across the room. "Get out of my head!"

Danny laughed and I threw a pillow at him.

"Wow. Real mature, Rea," he said as he tossed the pillow back at me. It landed on my lap.

"I'm sorry, Dan." I sighed and fell back on the bed. Burying myself in my blankets, I looked at him. "I just need to be alone right now."

He nodded and gave me a small smile. Waving, he left.

Not long after, I fell asleep.

"Rea, you know the meaning to these, don't you?" My mother's voice was soft and light.

She was pointing toward her markings on her arms. Her's were on her forearms, and traveled up to her shoulders and stopped behind her ears.

I nodded and said,"Those are your mating marks."

She smiled. She was so pretty. Her hair was pure white, like my own, but she had red eyes instead of blue. Her skin was so pale, if she closed her eyes, she would blend in with the snow.

"One day, you'll get markings. They might not be here," she motions to her arms,"but you will get them one day. So you must realize, my child," hands cupped my face, and their warmth made me smile. "Please remember that when you meet your mate, and you two are mated, it is for life. No matter what."

I nodded and she kissed my forehead.

Two days later, I was taken from my home and brought to a school in the middle of no where.

Her words didn't mean much back than, but now, they sunk deep. Now, more than ever. At times like these, I wished she were here. I wish my mate wasn't confusing. I wish I wasn't so confused.

"So, your finally up," his voice shook me out of my thoughts. I looked up to see none other than the Alpha. He seemed a bit nervous. "Um, can we talk?"

I was quite irritated. I had this dude stuck in brain for a whole day. Now he was in front of me and I had a headache from just seeing him.

"Umm, no." Turning away from him, I buried myself in my warm blankets again. "Please get out."

He sighed, I could feel his eyes on me. It wasn't a feeling I liked right now. "Rea, I just need you to listen, okay?"

Growling, I shoved the blankets off me. Don't know if he knew this, but I wasn't a morning person. If he didn't learn that right now, he'll be dead in a week.

I shook my head as I stood and walked over to the door. "Dude, if you don't get out of my room right now, I swear I'll make your life miserable." I opened it and usher for him to leave. He didn't seem to understand that I was kicking him out. "Man, if you don't get off your butt right now–"

Suddenly, he stood and walked toward the door. When he reached it, he looked down at me.

We just stared at each other for a while. "I just wanted to apologize for how I acted earlier. I wasn't exactly completely in control."

That was obvious. "Yeah, okay. Thanks for coming. I have–" I looked at my clock. It read 6:24 A.M. "– one more hour to sleep. I plan on taking advantage of that. So if you'll excuse me..." That's when I slammed the door on his face.

Earlier, I thought I had forgiven him, but that wasn't the same guy. That's the wolf. He needs to be a taught lesson. Honestly, it felt good. It was like me teaching a child not to be so naughty, only this was an Alpha, and I was his 'mate'.

Sleep, my body begged me.

Keep thinking, my brain advise me.

Mate! The she-wolf howled at me.

I wasn't going to get much sleep was I?

Maybe one day I'll forgive the man part of him, but the fact that he woke me up so early, he was no where near my good side.
