Noah POV

Her scream woke me up in the middle of the night. There was a pain in my side, by my rib, but I have no idea what it was from. I was sweating like crazy, and my wolf was more restless than ever before.

Getting up from bed, I was too worried to even notice my father watching me from the door. I paced the length of my room, trying to ease my restless wolf, but it only added to it. I felt my wolf growl within me, he was trying to take control.

Mate, my wolf growled, letting his dominance seep through our pores.

"Stop wolf," I growled back, pulling his power back in.

"Son," My father's voice made me jump. Looking at him was like looking at a mirror in ten years.

"Dad," I walked over to him and—without thinking—gave him a bear hug. "Something is wrong dad. Something just isn't right."

He seemed surprised. I mean, he is an alpha male. We don't usually show much emotion, but he quickly patted me on my back. He was used to my mother expressing all the emotions.

"What is it son?" He asked. He doesn't usually use my name. No one actually uses my name, it's just instinct to call an alpha, alpha.

"Rea," my mind drifted to her. I could not reach her completely because the bond was not sealed, but I could see glimpses of what she is thinking. "Someone has her."

I shut my eyes, feeling tears fall down my cheeks. I pushed through our unsealed bond into her mind. I needed to feel her presence or else my wolf would go berserk.

She was tied to a chair. Everything hurt. Her body. Her mind. Even her emotions have been tampered with. The bond that connects her to me gets weaker as she does.

In front of her stands two people.

Her vision is so blurry, I can't get a clear look at who it is.

I opened my eyes, shaking. My wolf howled within me and it took every cell in my body not to let it out. It ripped through my body, tearing my heart apart.

Mate, my wolf howled. Save mate.

My sadness quickly turned into rage as I heard their voices. They taunted her, messed with her emotions, and left her broken, in every aspect of the word. I felt her betrayal deep within her very being and it tore my heart apart all over again. She may not want to be mine, but that won't stop me from protecting her.

And plus, whether she accepted it or not, I am her's.

"I must go father," I stumbled out of his grasp, through the door of my bedroom, only to run into my mother.

She was a very kind woman and no one would have thought she would be my father's true mate. Of course, that didn't stop her. My mother was very determined woman. Nothing could stop her and I absolutely love her for that.

Her green eyes shined as she looked you at me. She knew me well. She knew everything about me, so she knew when I needed her and when I didn't.

"Take the pack Noah," she was the only one who used my name regularly. "Take the pack and bring her home."

———————————

No matter how much I sniffed, I couldn't find her scent, which was weird, because  this is her room. They torn her room apart and had gotten rid of any evidence that might lead me to her. I don't know how they had gotten rid of their own scents, but  it was beginning to tick me off. Luckily, they were somewhat reckless.

I had found—maybe not the strongest, but still noticeable—scent. It smelt like jungle wood and dew. I could tell this one was male. It had been in this room more than once, had laid on her bed, and had been in contact with Rea.

As much as I hated it, this person had been closer to her than even me.

  I had to find them.

"This way," I told my pack before phasing into my wolf. My wolf stretched our stiffen muscles, shaking our fur trying to rid us of our restlessness.

Sniffing the ground once more, I lead them into the forest. The moon was half-full and offered some well appreciated light. My parent's pack was mostly full of untrained teenagers because, the adults could not travel on school grounds. But they would do.

  I'm coming Rea.

The ground was uneven. The trees seemed to lean into the path I was taking. Many night creatures were scurrying about, making way for the predators. My senses were on fire, I could see everything. Smell everything. I could hear every, single, thing that lurked in the shadows.

And I knew we were being followed.

My original plan was to lead them astray. Separate into different groups. Then I realized, there was a lot on our tail. I decided, it would be best to ignore the followers and continue on our quest. I didn't want to risk my pack, they were mostly underage, after all.

Suddenly, the pain in my ribcage heightened to a point were I could no longer see straight. It stabbed into my lungs and I gasped.

No, it stabbed into Rea's lung. I must be close.

My howl ripped threw the air, causing my entire pack to feel the pain of their alpha. Many fell to the ground whimpering. Some even phased back and lay there, naked.

And at that moment, the shadows came at us.

A lady stood above me with a smirk. She looked to have a satisfied expression, but my vision was really blurry, so I don't know if I was seeing her right. Her black hair was sliver under the moonlight, her yellow eyes glowed. Her laugh was full of mirth and bitterness.

A guy stood beside her. The girl whispered something in his ear, and with that, he stepped forward and launched his foot into my face.

I vaguely remember smelling that scent again. Jungle wood and dew.

I cursed myself for being so weak. Shaking my head, I let my wolf take over and just watched. He had more strength than I did at the moment.

He growled at the pair, snapping his teeth together when they just laughed. That's when we got a good look at the two of them.

It a guy I vaguely recognized. Had I seen him somewhere before? I don't know. The lady I know I haven't seen before. She had the average wolf looks: black hair, yellow eyes. Nothing special. But power that radiated off her and her mate, power so supernatural and... Evil. It gave me chills. It was beyond anything I've ever witnessed.

And then I smelt it. Her scent. It was all over them, more so on the male. It sickened my wolf and I to the core, that they even lay a finger on my mate. They dirtied her with their evil.

  Rea.

Before my wolf could attack, we was tackled from the side, piercing the rib that was in pain. We scrambled, kicking and scratching everything that attacked us, but more and more wolves overtook us. They bit into our flesh and tore at our skin.

There was too many of them.
