Princess in Hiding

Aikaterina

The servers went in Princess Aikaterina's room and they called me. I looked at Princess Aikaterina and she was stunned.

"Why the hell are you taking my servant?" she asked furiously.

"It is requested by the Queen Aglaia, Your Highness." said the server.

Why did the Queen Monster want me? I stood up and straightened my uniform and curtsied to Princess Aikaterina. The butlers opened the double-doors and I went outside.

Princess Aikaterina followed me and the butlers and other Palace staff bowed to the Princess. But why does it feel like I was the one they were bowing to? I walked down the corridor with heebie-jeebies. The Princess looked out of place, tailing me.

The staff were leading me to the Queen. Perhaps she was downstairs, that we are going towards the grand staircase.

When I reached the staircase, I stopped. All of the staff in the Palace were standing straight on the stairs. I looked at the Princess. She looked furious.

"Let us all, give our respects to the real Princess! Aikaterie, the real Aikaterina Athanasia Titania of the House Athanatos, the next ruler of the Greek empire!"

Is it me they were referring to? They must be mistaken. I looked at the Princess and she was screaming, being held by security. I looked again at the staffs and I saw the Queen emerging from downstairs. She stepped up on some level and then bowed to me. Like a domino, the staff bowed to me, chanting a terrifying sound that would haunt me forever.

"All hail Princess Aikaterina!"

I stayed there for a while and I felt that I can't breathe. I know that I'm good at running but my feet were failing me. Stupid feet, work! I shook my head, feeling my tears jump from my eyes.

I ran. Ran to my nest in the servants' quarters and cried my eyes out there.

I'm the real Princess Aikaterina Athanasia Titania, the next Queen of the Greeks.
