"Here you go! Three chilled mugs of root beer with fries and cheesy-meaty nachos."

The men in front of me cheered with glee that shattered my eardrums. I shook my head and went back to the cashier station. A customer called for a waiter and I instantly pulled my little notepad and pen and went to them.

"Well, hello, sir! Can I take your order?" I asked.

The man looked up to me and he stared like hell. I flushed in deep crimson. Jeepers, he is intimidating.

"I like a double-quarter pound burger, your 'Heartbreaker' named one, and a chilled mug of root beer."

I wrote down what he said and tapped my notepad. "Is that all, sir?"

He slowly nodded. Man, this guy was pretty. Not pretty-pretty like a girl, pretty, like a man.

I bit my lip and started to repeat his order. He approved and I took the menu from him and went to the cashier to tap down his order. I looked back at him and he was staring at me. I adjusted my eyeglasses and went inside the kitchen. He was intimidating, jeez.

That man had chilling eyes of gray, a chiseled jaw, a perfect physique, those not so thick lips were very serious and his unruly hair that I want to touch because it might be soft.

I shook my head and returned to my task.

This was all that you could get from me. Well, I'm just a plain girl. An orphan, actually. I was adopted by my Aunt Ellie got me from the rebellion of Greeks against the President of Greece, it was when I was just a baby. I don't know who my parents were and how I came to be in this world.

Aunt Ellie just died and she left me with nothing, except for the necklace and ring she got from finding me. I touched the necklace. It was with me when they found me. It was a locket and inside was three little diamonds and a sapphire, the other side contained the engraved AAT on a golden plate. I don't know what the AAT means.

Yeah, I didn't tell my name. I'm Aikaterie. That was the name given to me by Aunt Ellie. She told me that I'm a pure girl when she found me. Well, it was short for Aikaterina, like the missing Princess of Greece. That's the missing Princess that they were looking for. I know that they wouldn't find her. The Princess might be dead.

I took the order of the man who stared at me earlier. I went out and smiled at him.

"Here you go. Enjoy!" I said.

"Thank you." He smiled. He looked like my age, twenty. I took the tray and went in the kitchen. His eyes got me. He was very handsome. I smiled at my stupid thought. A little fangirling while surviving in this pitiful life shouldn't hurt.

"Trish! How's your application?"

"I got accepted!"

Trish and I jumped while shrieking. Trish is my best friend slash roommate. I knew her while I was finishing my college. She offered me her apartment here in Athens. I was already taking on multiple jobs while she was hunting for one. She applied as a palace maid and now she got accepted.

Well now I'm going to be alone here in our humble home and burning my ass on working to meet ends.

"I'm so glad!" I hugged her and she hugged me back.

"I hope you try to apply for the job. They are still open for applications."

"I would try. Since I don't have a house of my own, I only have to pay my school loans and my needs."

"That's great, Aikaterie. You really should try. It can become a regular job for you."

I nodded. I took my laptop from its bag and copied the file of my resume in my flash drive. I gave it to Trish.
