Life at Night

Chapter 2 The boy

     Now it's his turn. Why has he just appeared? What role does he play? Let's find out.
Time to go home now. That class was weird. I don't know how I knew about werewolves but I did. It doesn't really matter. What happened, happened and now it's time to go home and play some games or work on my jujitsu. Ooh, there's a shortcut through this alley. There's no reason I want to get home quick but this path looks cool. I then see two other people ahead. It looks like Ava and the jet black haired kid...Rydian. Yes, Rydian was his name. I run up ahead.
     "Hey Ava, Rydian!" I shout. They both turn around to look at me.
     "Oh, hey Jayden." Ava replies shyly.
"I didn't give you permission to use my name." Rydian says coldly. Ouch, that's a little mean.
"Sorry mr. Dark and gloomy." I retort.
Ava seems to be hiding behind Rydian so I'm guessing they talked for a little to get to know each other.
"Step down Jayden. Your scaring Ava." He raises a fair point.
"Ok whatever. So what are you two doing down here?" I'll try at him some other time.
" I don't know, we ran into each other and just happen to be going to the same place." Ava says as she comes out from behind Rydian. We enter a big open area between the buildings and then the alleys shut. We fell into a trap I didn't even know existed.
GA: It's a trap!-Star Wars, general Akbar.
"Oh no, I have to get home, I can't be trapped." Ava bangs on the walls.
"Don't worry. Your not going to be trapped for long." We hear a very familiar voice of our mythology teacher coming from above us. Except this time, he's not dressed in a suit but a robe with blood splotched in different places on it.
"Mr. Lucifer, why did you trap us?!" I yelled at him.
"You are trapped because you have special talents. So I hope you are ready to live the life of night rather than day."
He started chanting as I tried to figure out what he meant. Just then, a ball of purple fire from lucifer fired at Ava. Before I could react, Rydian jumped in front of her and took the shot. He crumpled to the ground swarmed in darkness. Another shot fired at Ava and I jumped in front of her to keep her from harm. I when the fire hit me, my whole body was burning and itching. My eyes started feeling heavy and I couldn't feel anything or think anything. I could only watch. The third ball of fire came hurtling at Ava and I couldn't help her. I could faintly hear her screaming our names and telling us she was scared. That's when it hit. She fell to the ground with a thump and became covered in darkness as my eyes began to close.
When i woke up, I was in a room. This was not my room or any room i had ever seen before. I got up and found my self in my trench coat and black jeans like yesterday. I walked to the door and saw a note. The note said:
Hello Jayden,
I am Lucifer, the Knight of heaven and the lord of Hell.
You are in a house I have given to you. It is free of charge.
I have wiped your parents minds so they have no memory of you.
You are mythic now. You will soon find out what that means. I've left meat and bones in the pantry.
Good luck, I've left Rydian In charge.
Well that sounds fun. Mr. Dark and gloomy is in charge. My parents don't know who I am anymore. And I'm in a house that's who knows where. I open the door into a hallway. I see down one end two bedrooms and a bathroom. Down the other is a wide living space and kitchen. I walk to the kitchen and find Rydian and Ava in there. Rydian is now wearing tight black armor that has two slits in the back. His hair is spiked back and his aura of darkness feels stronger.
Ava on the other hand, she looks like she's been crying and her skin has gone very pale. Her eyes, her innocent eyes are now red as blood. This can't be good.
"Hey, what's up?" I say trying to start a conversation. Ava looks up.
"Jayden, your awake. I can't believe what he did. Lucifer stole our human life from us. Our homes, family, school. It's horrible." She came to me crying and hugged me. At this, Rydian looked up.
"Don't worry, we will find a new life." Rydian said with determination in his voice.
"I hope so. Just promise me you guys won't leave me." Ava said with a quivering voice. Me and Rydian looked at each other with certainty. We were never going to let someone harm Ava. No one was going to harm any of us.
"We will never let harm reach you." Me and Rydian said together.
"That's good. Now let's eat. I'm hungry. Anyone have some blood. I mean, what. Why do I want blood?" Ava said looking very confused. I gave her a worried look and Rydian looked in the pantry. He closed the pantry as fast as he opened it.
"There is nothing good." He said with a weird face. Me and Ava walked over to the pantry. When we opened it Ava gasped. The pantry held meat, bones, Vile's of red liquid labeled blood and jars with black wisps labeled souls.
"This can't be good." I said and that's when we all lunged for our designated food. I took a bone and started gnawing on it. Ava grab a vile of blood and started drinking it. Rydian however, did not look as pleased with what he was supposed to eat.
"How do you eat a soul?" Rydian asked. At that, me and Ava busted out laughing.
