Kali's POV

"We have to go to the meadow!" Madison screams. "Do you hear me?" She yells in Maggie's face, grabbing her shoulders and violently shakes. The ground starts to tremble and shake just like Madison shakes Maggie. I fumble around, catching onto a tree. Madison holds onto Maggie, crying. "I'm sorry," she sobs. "I just need him." The ground trembles knocking them down. Trenches form in the ground, spreading forwards. Another disaster for another death. I scramble up, helping the two of them up as well. The cracking chases us out, hopping from side to side, and then it stops. Right at the edge, hurling us into a heap. An icy icy sensation spreads across my face. Snow. I would've never thought it was real. Maggie brings herself up and begins to walk. She walks for a while, as I huddle up next to Madison, keeping the warmth between us. She gets bigger and bigger each day. "Come on y'all!" Maggie yells from ahead. "I'm not walking just to walk. We have to keep moving to not die." I stand up and brush the powdery, white snow off my thick leggings. We haven't stopped in a while. I'll say it's been a week. There's 5 dead. Which means there's 13 left. 13 people that want to kill us. 13 people that could spare us, but that's not likely. Not likely at all. But there is hope. Hope for a determined, strong-willed girl, a non-confident blonde, and a knocked-up tag-a-long who's lovesick. Hope that maybe we'll be the last ones. The last ones to rush out of the arena and call ourselves victors. The last ones to...breath. Maggie smirks in the distance. "Shelter," she gasps.
