Isaiah's POV {ikik... i switched it up!!}
Her hand slipped from mine as the life began to drain from her. Her eyes frozen with fear, my heart shattered. the sound of grass rustling in the meadow was deafening, but she was silent and all I could focus on was her. Her. My everything. The one with the beautiful chestnut hair and a smile wider than the slash in her stomach. My darling. Her green, frilly dress and her wavy hair. And her eyes. Oh, her eyes. How they glowed with an intense fire and sparkled mahogany with mischief. But now they were black like tar. I collapse to the ground beside her. "No! Madison, no!" I scream, wiping the blood. "Oh, God, it's everywhere," I repeat, over and over, taking the dagger from her stomach. "Sh," she manages from the little breath she has left. "Listen to me...everything's...gonna be...okay. Make sure Kali and Maggie...get Mere." "No, you listen to me. I love you with every piece of me. I will love and love and love until I have nothing left, and then I will make more out of the nothing that lives where everything once did. I would dismantle me to put you back together again." She giggles softly as a tear streams down her face, and the sound of laughter leaping from her lungs slows me to a crawl. That laugh, oh God, that laugh refills all that spilled from me; it is the oxygen mask to the plane crash I have always been. I admit, I was afraid to love. Not just love, but to love her. For she was a stunning mystery. She carried things deep inside her that no one else is yet to understand, and I was afraid to fail. Seh was the ocean and I was just a boy who loved the waves but was completely terrified to swim. I scan the dagger's edges and inhale a sharp breath. Without dwelling on the thought of it any longer, I shove it into my chest, melting into the space beside her. She loops her finger around mine. One small connection while the world fell apart around us. I couch, feeling stick surface. "Isaiah," Maddie croaks. "Please... don't ...go." I wince at the emotional and physical pain. "Meet... me... at... the... meadow," I whisper softly with my last breath. As darkness closes in, my mind frees itself from all except for my dying though. Maddie.
