Ness and Lucas

Chapter 0- Prologue

In Smashland, the home of Super Smash Bros. characters, there is only one real character for every actual character. Most of the time, the characters choose which battles to go into, and while they're not fighting a robot takes their place so they don't leave any gamer into a state of concern on why their character isn't even on the screen.  Ness and Lucas have always chosen to be in shift matches or team battles with each other. Not once have they ever touched For Glory. And everybody knew that they always wanted to be in the same match. However, on occasion, conquests call for only one of them. With regret filling their hearts, they watched how heartbroken the other was when one of them came out of the battle with even the slightest injury.

Ness and Lucas are the only characters who can't bare to watch each other get injured. Marth and Ike didn't like going into separate battles, but they were proud when they came out scathed. Mario and Peach absolutely despised going into the same match (Mario was sick of saving Peach all the time and wanted a break, as did Peach,) but enjoyed coming out of the battle with injuries. Lucario and Mewtwo didn't care about each other's injuries. But, one upside to Ness and Lucas's injuries is that Lucas enjoyed healing Ness, and vice versa.

For injuries too grave to heal, Dr. Mario and Nurse Peach built a hospital. They've diagnosed things like illnesses, end of match KOs, and characters getting stuck in Bowser's shell. Usually, Lucas does volunteer work there by assisting patients with minor injuries. He only does this when Ness is helping Mr. Game and Watch teach characters how to recover on the battlefield *ahem ahem Little Mac.*

Where our story will start is when Ness and Lucas wake up. The prior day, Ness had to fight in a For Glory match by himself, so Lucas is still a bit shaken and Ness is still trying to forget what he was forced to participate in.
