Ness and Lucas

Chapter 1- Glory

When Ness woke up, Lucas was sitting on top of his bed, already in his day clothes, staring at the ceiling. It appeared that he was trying to forget what he saw, too. He was watching what happened in that match in the lobby. Ness was doing his best, but the others were savages. Ness had even managed to rack up 270% damage before Zero Suit Samus KO'd him. It wasn't just Lucas who was scared of the sight they were witnessing, too. Even Roy came to watch. Ness stared at Lucas for a few minutes, with Lucas unnoticing. Finally, Lucas sat up and realized that Ness was awake.

"How long did I sleep for?" Ness asked, drowsily.

"As soon as the battle was over, you were exhausted. I dragged you home with the help of Captain Falcon, touched up on your injuries and you fell asleep immediately," Lucas answered, hopping off of his bed. "I'm going to go get the mail. I'll be right back."

Lucas put on his shoes that were near the doorway. He opened the door and exited the home. Ness laid his head back down on the pillow. He was still weak due to what had happened last night. Ness turned his head. It was 9:00 AM. The fighters had already started the day. He could hear the sound of the mailbox opening outside. His ears also heard footsteps, but not loudly, so they weren't coming from Lucas. The footsteps got louder, and then Ness heard a muffled scream of terror and the sound of running. He jumped out of bed, threw on his day clothes, hat, and backpack, and ran outside. Lucas was nowhere to be found.

A bright light shone in Lucas's face.

"W-What the heck? Where am I?" Lucas asked, confused.

Without an answer, Little Mac got right in his face and yelled "WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE BUFFING MACHINE?!"

"What on EARTH is a BUFFING MACHINE?!" Lucas said, slightly scared.

Little Mac hit his boxing glove against his forehead, disappointed. "Captain Falcon, you take over. I can't deal with him."

Captain Falcon walked forward to the desk. He took out a salvaged badge of strength and put it on Lucas.

"Show me your moves!" Captain Falcon said, enthusiastically.

"Why?! What did you put on me?!" Lucas yelled, now freaking out.

Fox walked forward, held out his gun, and said "Do it."

Lucas, now held at gunpoint, used P.K. Fire against Captain Falcon. The F-ZERO pilot took more damage than usual.

Lucas looked down at his hands. "W-WAS THIS A STRENGTH BADGE?!"

"H-YES!" Captain Falcon answered.

Lucas immediately ripped it off his chest and threw it on the table. Little Mac took center stage again.

"Now does that familiarize you with the buffing machine?" Little Mac said in a threatening voice.

"I think I've seen it before..? The last person I saw near it was Villager..." Lucas replied.

"That stupid pocket of his..." Little Mac sighed. "Okay, thanks. Fox, get him out of here."

Fox had taken his gun and held it at Lucas's back. Throwing his hands up in an 'I SURRENDER' position, Lucas evacuated the room.

Ness had been searching for Lucas for the past hour. Finally, he found him, lying outside of the portal to Punch-Out!! with Fox's gun next to him. Ness didn't know what happened, but he was glad that Lucas was okay. Lucas slowly got up, and noticed that Ness was sitting next to him.
