Your POV: I had finally finished my homework for college and laid back in my rotating chair. Gonzo was lying on my bed, sprawled out to each corner of the bed.

"So, how many other notebooks are out there Gonzo?" I asked calmly. He sat up and cracked his neck.

"It depends how many have been dropped in the human realm, so I don't know." He shrugged and walked towards my window.

"Don't you have parents (Y/N)? It's pretty late." I placed my hands on my head and sighed.

"My mom works two jobs and my dad is a detective at the police station, so they usually don't get home until late." I looked at the clock, 9:35.

"They should be home in a few minutes with my brother and dinner." Gonzo nodded and continued to gaze out the window.

*Time Skip to dinner*

My brother rambled on and on about how swim team practice was and how he might make it the Olympics. I just sat in silence and ate out of my bento box. After a few minuets, my father cleared his throat and stood up.

"Everyone, I have been chosen to work on the Kira case, beside Detective L himself." My brother shot up from out of his chair,

"Dad that's so awesome! Congratulations!" I just nodded and continued eating.

"Good on ya dad." I said with my mouth full. Dad loosened his tie and sat down.

"Well, he's having us put cameras up to make sure that none of us are Kira... Also, L himself will be staying in our house for a couple of weeks, due to financial problems. When he does arrive, do not call him L, instead refer to him as Ryuzaki... Understood children?" My brother and I nodded,

"When will he get here?" I asked while devouring my food.

"Sometime this week, I'm not exactly sure.."

After dinner, I headed upstairs and took a quick shower. I wrapped my body and hair in a towel and traipsed into my room. I closed the door and locked it. I dried myself off and slipped into my favorite pjs. I crawled in bed and quickly fell into a dreamless sleep.

The next morning I got up and got myself dressed. I ran downstairs and made myself breakfast. Today was Saturday, so I didn't have any college classes. Which meant chilling on the couch, watching netflix and eating (F/F) ice cream.
As I watched my favorite show, I heard my brother come running down the stairs.
"Morning (Y/N)!" He said as he jumped on the couch.
"Morning Yokai." I said as I shoveled a hand of popcorn in my mouth. Yokai hugged around my neck and squeezed.
"Ah, Y-Yokai, you're choking me." I said out of  breath. He quickly let go of my neck,
"Sorry (Y/N)!" He pulled his legs up to his chest and rested his head on them.
"Hey (Y/N), wanna hang out today, go to the movies, or dinner, and ice cream?" My head jolted in his direction and a small smile crept across my features.
"Yeah, that sounds fun!" We both jumped off the couch, I grabbed my purse and we headed out.

*time skip to that night*
Yokai and I walked up the steps to our house, laughing and eating our frozen yogurt. I opened the door and walked in.  I was met with my father in the main entree with a man that had loose fitting jeans and a long white sleeve shirt. His hair was scraggly, and his eyes were surrounded with black rings, signaling that he hadn't been sleeping very much.
"Ah! (Y/N)! Yokai! You're- what are you eating?" My father said as he turned in our direction. Yokai and I looked at each other, then back at my dad.
"Frozen yogurt." I said with my mouth full. He nodded and sighed.
"Children, this is Ryuzaki.. Ryuzaki, this is (Y/N) and Yokai." Ryuzaki stared at us with big eyes.
"A pleasure to meet your acquaintance, (Y/N)."
