The next morning you trudged downstairs and flopped onto the couch. Only this time, the couch was a little harder and a bit more lumpy this time. You opened your eyes to be met with large greyish ones.
"Oh, I'm sorry Ryuzaki! I didn't realize you were asleep on the couch!" You yelped as you scrambled to get off of his limp figure. He reached his hand up and wrapped it around your waist, pulling you back down on his lap.
"I don't mind, you did not expect me to be here; you were just doing what was natural." You hummed in response and snuggled your head in his lap.
"(YYYY/NNN)!!!" You heard Yokai yell as he body slammed you on the couch.

"Oof, what do you want Yokai?" You groaned as you sat up. Yokai was wiggling uncontrollably with a huge grin on his face.

" Today's our final game! You need to come." He said excitedly.

"Volleyball, Football, Tennis, Hockey, Basketball?" You asked. Yokai was known as an all star when it came to any sport.

"Basketball. Promise me you'll be there?" He asked with puppy dog eyes. You nodded your head and scratched the back of your neck. Yokai punched the air in excitement and bounced off the couch, into the kitchen.

" You are very patient with him.. That's quite admirable." L said quietly as he bit his thumb. You blushed slightly at the flattering words.
"Thank you Ryuzaki..it isn't easy, he's quite a rascal sometimes." You said as you stood up from the couch.
"I was going to get breakfast, anything in particular you'd like?" I asked as I made my way into the kitchen.
"Anything you prefer really. I'm not too terribly picky when it comes to food, as long as it's sweet." He said in a casual tone. He lifted himself off the couch and quickly followed behind me. He was like an adorable, little puppy!
"How about waffles? Does that sound good?" I asked as pulled out some bowls from the cabinet.
L licked his lips lightly,
"Sounds delicious." I gave him a small smile and grabbed his hand, tugging him towards me.
"Great! You can help me." L looked at me slightly confused.

L POV:
She smiled at me brightly and lead me towards the counter.
"Okay, so you can crack the eggs for me and whisk them together. Is that okay, L?" I nodded and began cracking the eggs.
"I would prefer if you would call me Ryuzaki, just for safety purposes.." (Y/N)'s face became flushed with embarrassed as she looked away.
"M-my apologies, Ryuzaki.." I felt slightly bad for correcting her, her face looked pitiful.
"No need to apologize, it's a common mistake." I reassured her as I began to whisk the eggs. It was pretty obvious that I wasn't too terribly good in a kitchen; seeing as the eggs were now getting all over my face.
"Oh Ryuzaki, you're making such a mess of yourself!" (Y/N) laughed lightly as she walked over to me with a towel. She wiped away the access egg on my face and gave my cheek a quick kiss.
"All clean! You did a nice job on the eggs, at least, the ones still in the bowl." I smiled slightly, feeling somewhat accomplished for some odd reason. She took the bowl from the counter and poured the contents into the mixer.
"Thank you for your help, Ryu. It's always nice to have an extra hand in the kitchen." The way she looked at me, the way she smiled, it was contagious, but there was something else... She smiled as though she was insecure, scared, hiding something...
"You're quite welcome, (Y/N)... You're certainly kind to me, a stranger who's been forced to live in your home. Someone who disrupts your normal way of life." I pried with curiosity.
"Oh, I don't have a normal life, so I really don't mind. And you're not a stranger dear, you're a friend. " Great... Just what I need, another friend.
"What do you mean 'you don't have a normal life'?" I asked as I stood over her shoulder.
"I'm a Jpop singer, life's crazy. I go on tours across the globe, I see new things and meet new people, it's quite entertaining. Also my father's a detective, so that's in a whole 'nother category of its own." She said as she poured the batter into the waffle iron.
"And what do you think of your father's work? Does it intrigue you?" I questioned once more. She giggled and ruffled my hair.
"You sure do like to ask a lot of questions... Well, I do find it fascinating. I'm majoring in criminology; every time my dad finishes a case he tells me ever detail they went through to complete it."  She smiled and pulled the waffles from the iron.
"Well, get a plate Ryu, and eat up!"
Such an interesting girl...

*time skip*
(Y/N)'s POV:
I got sat on the couch, scrolling through channels on the tv when I heard the front door open and slam shut.
"(Y/N), I need your help!" I heard Yokai yell across the room.
"I'm in here, Yoki, what do you need?" Yoki walked over to the computer near the couch and opened his school's website.
"Mr. Makato says that if I hack into his account and change my grade to an A, he'll give me straight A's for EVERY class for the rest of the year! So I need you to hack into the account for me.." I gave a blank expression and walked over to him.
"Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of you doing it yourself?" Yoki stared at me pitifully.
"PLEEEEASSSSE SISS!!!" I sighed scootched him out of the chair.

L's POV:
I observed carefully and quietly as (Y/N) typed away on the computer. Her little brother stared at her with anticipation and worry.
"C'mon sis! Hurry up!!" Yokai cried like a child.
"Be patient, just a few more seconds.... Anddd... Done." She said as she clicked on the certain grades.
"Ooh! Thanks sis! I owe ya." (Y/N) smirked and leaned back in the chair.

Very interesting.... Very intelligent...
