Finally school was over! Harry had been waiting the whole day for this. For a few months his daddies had walked with him to school and back and now Harry knows the way one hundred percent and gets to walk alone today, just like a big boy!"Hey Harry, I heard you were walking home today, do you want to walk with me?" One of his classmates, Luke, approached him as he was getting his coat on. "Yeah sure, it'll be fun!" Harry was seven, well almost eight. Some of his classmates started walking home at six years old but Harry didn't mind, he loved when his daddy walked with him. He puts the backpack on his shoulders, the bag almost as big as him because Harry was not tall at all. "Okay, I'm ready. We can't take too long because then my daddies will start to worry." Harry explained. "Okay, that's alright. I'm just waiting for James, he should be here any second now, he's gonna walk with us." Harry nodded and looked around for James, spotting him in the crowd that was stood behind them.
"C'mon James, we have to go. We're walking with Harry and it's his first time walking home by himself." Luke smirked. "Oh really? That should be fun!" James returns the smirk. Harry can feel little butterflies in his stomach, both from nervousness and excitement, he was finally doing it! Well technically not alone, but without one of his daddies and that was a big thing!
"How come you've never walked by yourself Harry? Is your weird dad too overprotective huh?" Harry frowned, his daddy was not weird. "No...I just didn't want to at first and then I asked my daddies if I could walk by myself because I'm not little anymore." He explained. "Okay this is a short cut. It will get you home way sooner, promise. We always go this way." Luke stopped by a pathway leading into a little forest.
"Uhm, I don't know Luke. I'm supposed to walk six houses further and cross the street after looking both ways before I can turn. This is not my turn."
"I know, but this turn is shorter, you'll get home much quicker. We'll even walk with you." Harry sighed. He didn't want to seem like a baby so he agreed. Maybe if he gets home quicker his daddy will be so proud. After walking for a few minutes into the forest Harry didn't like how dark it was. "Um, are we almost out? I don't think this way is quicker and I feel like we weren't supposed to walk down here, the sign said so." The boys ignore him and keep on walking. Much to Harry's relief they exit the forest a few minutes later, but he didn't know where he was at all.
"Okay well our house is down there so you can get yourself home from here." The boys laughed before running away. Harry looked at his surroundings and almost burst into tears, he didn't recognise anything. He thought about going back into the forest but he didn't remember all the turns they took so he figured he would just get lost in there. Maybe he wasn't ready to walk by himself; his daddy will be so disappointed. He figured if he walked to the end of the street he might see his street from there but it was nowhere to be seen. The thought about being lost made him cry, what if he never gets back home?

"He was supposed to be home over an hour ago Liam! I walked to the school and he wasn't there and nowhere to be seen on the way home! Where do you think he is?" Louis was panicking. His baby was lost. "Calm down babe, I'm sure he'll turn up any second, he-" – "Calm down?!? Liam, our child is missing and the bloody police won't do anything because it's only been an hour. I looked everywhere!"
"I called a few parents and they said they'd keep their eyes open. I'm more than sure he will get back home." Liam hugged his sniffling husband. Of course Liam's mind was racing, but he didn't want Louis to know. "It's all my fault Li, he wasn't ready, we shouldn't have let him do it." Louis sniffled. "Hey, it's not your fault. He was more than ready; he even went over it ten times this morning with you."
---No luck. Every corner he turned or street he crossed, he was hoping his street was right there, but absolute no luck. It was starting to get slightly darker and poor Harry was scared to death. He was starting to give up, he really wanted to just sit down on the ground and cry, but he really needed to get home. After another hour he started to recognise little things like the supermarket and little shops, but that's nowhere near his house! He'd never get back home now! So that's where he decided to give up and let himself fall down to the ground. He was alone and scared and he didn't know if he'd ever make it back home.
"Hello dear, are you okay?" A woman approached him. His daddies had always warned him about talking to strangers but he didn't care right now. He looked up at the woman still sobbing. "I-I can't find my house. I was walking h-home from school and I got lost because of two bullies and now I will never get back to my house and my daddies will be so sad and they will never tuck me into bed again." He rambles as he tries to wipe away the tears and snot with the back of his hand.
"Oh dear. Well do you remember your daddy's phone number?" Harry shakes his head, "what about your street name? Do you remember?" Harry thinks for a while before nodding. "That's half an hour from here; did you walk all the way?" Harry nods sadly. "Well, it'll only take ten minutes in the car. I know your daddies must have told you not to talk to strangers huh? But I promise you I can get you back home, would you like that?"After a lot of coaxing, Harry trusted the woman to take him back home and boy was he glad when he saw his house. "There it is! There it is!" He cried with joy as the woman stopped the car. She holds Harry's backpack for him and leads him to the house.
"DADDY!" Harry cries when Louis opens the door. "Harry, Ohmygod where have you been, I was so worried! I'm so so glad you're back." Harry explains everything and told him that he didn't want to walk alone ever again. "Thank you so much, not everyone would've done that." Liam thanks the woman. "It's okay, it was quite sad finding him there and I know I would be devastated if my son didn't come back home from school."
"Are you gonna say thank you Harry? It was very nice of her to help you."
"Thank you." Harry mumbles shyly into Louis' chest. "How about a bath before dinner and then we will tuck you into bed huh?""I wanna sleep with you." Harry sniffles and of course they can't say no to that.
"I'm gonna beat some asses tomorrow." Louis grumbles as he watches his son sleep peacefully in the middle of the king sized bed. "Relax babe, we'll talk to the school and their parents, but I'm not letting you beat up eight year old kids."
