We were each led to our own separate rooms. They were right next to each other but we were still able to hear everything going on through the walls. I stared out the gray window of the world in front of me wondering how my life would now change, how my family would be if I died in the games. If I'd survive or if district 12 would look any different. But my thoughts were soon interrupted by the door opening, I turned around to see my parents, my mom running after me tackling me into a hug. "You get 5 minutes" we heard the guard say, despite the words being muffled by his mask. We nodded, "Allison, remember this. You do what you have to do to live, even if it means killing Scott." The words hit me like a bag of bricks, I felt a stinging pain in my chest, "and what if I can't?" I mumbled but it only made him snap "there is no can't! You are an Argent! We don't fail without a fight!" He said making me flinch. He was right, the Argent family never went down easy, no matter how bad it hurt or who it hurt. "Yes sir..." I said quietly as I looked up at him with tears brimming my eyes. My mom sniffled and stroked my cheek "oh sweetie, please promise me you'll be safe, come back to us." She said in a pleading tone, but I couldn't make a promise that I knew I probably wouldn't keep. It was literally a life or death situation, but for the amusement of others "I...I'll try" I said but it only made my mom cry more. We gathered into a group hug, as the 5 minutes were coming to an end, before we departed my father slipped me a necklace, I could tell it had been in the Argent family for years. "Take this he said, it's a part of home and it will bring you good luck of the Argent family." He said, he kissed my head and my mother kissed my cheek and soon departed as the guards escorted them out.
Through the wall I could hear Scott and his parents, his mother fighting through sops as she said farewell to her son and his father giving her comfort which was a rare thing for him to do, at least that's what I remember him telling me. It had been a while, maybe he had changed. I heard their footsteps as they began to depart also and I heard Scott sigh as he shut his door. I went back to gazing out the window "I know you can hear me." He said through a sigh, "Allison listen, I don't want this to be awkward between us alright?" He said loud enough so I could hear though the walls weren't sound proof. "I don't know." I responded. "But I have to much to think about right now, can we just talk about it later? Maybe on our way to the capital?" I say simply but I didn't receive an answer. I couldn't worry about it, all I could do was keep focus on what lies ahead of me, and that was the games. I had to focus, I had to win. There was a knock on my door, before I could open it she had already came in, it was Effie. "Hello darling." She said in a tone as if she were talking to the queen of England, "I have come to gather you and Mr. McCall so we can depart from here and head to the capital, there you will meet all of the other tributes and began training. You have 2 weeks to prepare for the games. We will go into more detail once everyone is there." She explained but I continued to just give a blank stare though I understood everything. She took a sigh "now, come darling. We are leaving soon." She said and I followed. We retrieved Scott, nothing between us was said but I paid no mind to it at all. Effie led us to a train. There we met another man, he had blonde hair which looked like it was tangled in knots. He wrecked of pure alcohol the smell made me gag. "This is Haymitch, he will be your mentor for the games." Effie explained. Scott extended his hand giving it a shake while I gave a simple smile and a head nod. "Come now children." He said his words clearly slurred. The stench of liquor and coffee combination hit me horribly causing me to take a step back. "We have much to discuss on our way to the capital, come now we're burning day light." He said leading us to a train. It looked like a first class plane ride, there was food that looked like it had been cooked by professionals the seats were cushioned. Everything looked very well presented and smelled much better than Haymitch did. I took a seat far from everyone. I sat by a window taking one last look at my dull colorless district. District 12. I saw a crowed of people my parents along with Scott's were up front. I put my hand on the cold glass and looked into the eyes of my father, "you're an Argent" I heard his voice replay in my head. 'I love you' I mouthed to them both Scott doing the same to his parents. Then the train started and slowly we took off further and further we got the distance grew from them. It grew to the point that I could no longer see them. My heart broke as I began to think the worse. I had to hold in the tears, I couldn't let them see me cry. I had to be strong, I had to remember. I am an Argent, and we don't go down without a fight.((Okay guys that's part 2 :) hope you like it. Next chapter in gonna skip to them getting to the capital and meeting everyone else and stuff like that...it'll be up soon ☺️))
