My Neighbour

Who is she

We got into the car and drove off from that place. The drive was a silent one until Ace looked at me and realized that I had tears in my eyes.

I couldn't stop thinking about what that lady told about me and though I was not Ace's girl friend it pricked me like needles when she told him to find someone worth.

"Hey its alright don't cry because of what she told you." Ace said looking at the road and then me.

"its alright?  You think its alright? Maybe for you Ace but not for me. I can't just stand and act as though nothing happened when just a while ago a lady commented on me. " I said tears pouring out of my eyes by now.

"Look I'm sorry on her behalf. But you need to know that she is like that she's jealous because she thinks you're my girlfriend and all she wants is to see you crying, Me getting angry and we breakingup. But we are not gonna show her what she wants to see alright" he said.

"Who the hell is she?" I asked confused.

Did they know each other before?

"I don't think you should bother about that. " he said tightening his grip on the steering wheel.

There must be some connection with that lady and I'm gonna find out.

We reached home and Ace looked at me one last time to see if I was alright. Then he stopped the car and came across to open the car door for me. I got out of the car and told him goodbye and started walking towards my house when he caught hold of my hand.

" I'm sorry about what happened at the restaurant today I  didn't expect her to come " he said with sadness and guilt in his eyes.

"Ace its fine. It's not your fault so stop being sorry for it. I just felt bad for what she told but it has nothing to do with you so chuck it and yeah I should be the one apologizing because I came off at you like that when you were trying to console me. I guess its quite late now so go and get some sleep. Goodnite." With that I made my way to my house and locked the door behind me.

I had a wash, changed into my night suit and go to my bed to sleep. Before I could sleep I took one glance at Ace's window and I saw that the lights were still on.

I immediately took my phone and texted him.

To Ace,
I want you to go straight to bed and not plan to do anything else.
                                          Anna.

After a while I got a reply from him .

How did you know I was planning to do something else? Anyway I guess I'll listen to you and go to bed now.
                                         Ace.

And with that I put away my phone and decided to sleep.

Ace was actually pretty predictable.

I knew he would plan to do something to teach that lady a lesson or he would be thinking about the entire incident and getting more irritated.
