Back to old life

A few days later I'm now at the Helicarrier for a meeting with other agents. Agent Romanoff is there as well. Agent Barton is not here. I don't know why, he just said he had personal things to take care of. I wonder if he's okay.

We all sit in the bridge and I sit in my usual seat next to agent Romanoff. We wait for Director Fury to arrive so meeting can begin.

''So are you still moving into the tower after what happened in the park?'' Agent Romanoff asks me all of a sudden. I told her and agent Barton what happened in the park. When they heard it, they weren't surprised. I wonder why.

I look at her and nod.

''Yes, I am. It's not Mr. Stark I'm mad at. It's Mr. Rogers. He tackled Mr. Stark, he had no reason for doing it.'' I tell her. She looks at me like I'm a little girl telling about my first crush.

''See there's the thing, Em. Maybe he does have a good reason for doing it. Maybe he was just too shy to tell you.'' She says to me. I frown at her and think back on what has been happening the last week.

He has shown a lot of times that he's interested in me. Not as much as Mr. Stark, but that's because of the person he is. He's more shy than Mr. Stark. It's kind of cute. But that doesn't change of how I feel about him right at the moment.

Before I can think further Director Fury comes in.

''Hello agents. I've been calling you to this meeting today, because of a very important mission. It's not all of you who's going because it's not as bad as we thought. Agent Clark and agent Romanoff, you can leave the meeting, you're staying here.'' He says to us.

We stand and leave the bridge. But before I can leave the bridge, Director Fury takes a grip on my upper arm and leans close in.

''I need to talk to you after this meeting. Get back in here in 10 minutes.'' He tells me in a low, harsh tone. I nod and leave the room with agent Romanoff.

I'm not afraid of what he's going to talk to me about. I know it's about me leaving the Helicarrier to go to New York. I'm more afraid that he'll do something about my position on the team. He can't sack me for helping the civilians. Maybe he wants me to be something more than just a agent. If I'm lucky I'll go a rank up, so I become on the same level as agent Romanoff. I'm now very excited but also really nervous.

After the 10 minutes passes by, I see several agents walk out of the bridge. I walk back inside to see Director Fury sitting on the chair next to my usual. I walk over to him and sit on my usual seat. He looks at me serious with his eye. He scares me a bit, especially with that eyepatch.

''Emma.'' He starts out. I'm in shock, he calls me by my name and not agent Clark. ''I've heard that you're moving into Stark Tower with Mr. Stark.'' I widen my eyes at him. I didn't see that coming. Why does he want to talk about that? How does he even know?

''Yes, that is correct, sir.'' He widens his eye at me in shock but quickly change to his usual serious expression again.

''You called me sir. That's something new. What happened to you?'' he asks me while keeping the straight expression. I smile at him.

''Nothing, sir. You're my boss, so you deserve my respect.'' I tell him. He nods at me.

''Anyway. I'd like to know why you're moving in with Mr. Stark.'' I look away for a moment, thinking of a good respond. I look back at him.

''I needed a place to stay. He offered me a room in the tower. So in a couple of days, I'm leaving my apartment and I'll be moving in with him. Of course the top floors need to be rebuild, but I'll be living in one of the lower floors, so I wont be caused any harm.'' I assure him. He keeps the straight expression and slightly nods.

''Be careful around him, I know him. He's not a guy that you can fully trust after only a week. Not even a whole life if you ask me.'' He warns me. I take it in me and smile at him.

''I will, sir. Thank you for your concern.'' He gives me a small smile before standing.

''You're free to leave now, agent Clark. Remember what I said to you.'' I stand as well and nod at him before walking away.

~~Time Skip~~

It's the day of moving out. I'm now packing the last box. There's a truck outside helping to get my stuff loaded. I told Mr. Stark that I want my furniture with me, but he said no because is not modern aged. I'm agree with him, but they mean so much to me, because they all belonged to my aunt. Eventually he gave in and led me keep them.

While I'm packing I see something weird on my calendar on the wall. I see that it's my birthday today. Today I'm become a legally adult. I'm about to cry. The last time I celebrated my birthday was two years ago, because my aunt died last year the day before my 17th birthday.

I don't want to tell anyone about it. Only agent Barton and agent Romanoff knows about my birthday. They know that I hate celebrating my birthday. Last year, when I didn't celebrated my birthday for the first time, they both bought me a present, even though I told them not to. This year I hope they won't.

I finish packing the last box and leave the apartment. I look around a last time before closing and locking the door. I put the last box in the truck and then drive to the tower where Mr. Stark waits for me to arrive.

I'm actually really excited to move in. I know there's a lot of rebuilding to go through, but with the money Mr. Stark have it'll take no time.
