I found myself staring at a rusty metal ceiling. I tried to get up but a throbbing in the back of my head abruptly stopped me. I lay back down on the bed and went deep into thought about what had just happened. I was interrupted by the sound of footsteps walking into the room.

"Hello amigo." A man said. I turned my head to see who it was. A man with a mustache and a loaded M4A1 stared down at me. "My name is Mario. We found you in trouble and helped you with your, eh, situation."

"Who exactly is 'we'?" I asked.

"We are just survivors. Our group is dedicated to helping anyone we can find, to fend off this failed bio-weapon." Mario said.

"What bio-weapon? What are you talking about? And who was that man who attacked me? And how did he survi-" I was cut short by Mario. He raised his hand as a gesture for me to stop. He turned around and walked over to a small TV. With a push of a button, the TV turned on, and he stood back to watch. CNN was on.

"We are here in Washington DC as we are witnessing a massive epidemic sweeping across the country. The epidemic has been reported from almost everywhere on the East Coast, all the way to Midwest states such as Kansas and Nebraska. The government advises everyone to stay home with your windows and doors locked. Thank you." The view switched from the reporter to shots of people running. People with discolored peeling skin and torn clothes. They were not humans. They were zombies. The camera showed the National Guard standing in front of stationed tanks and sandbags. They were holding the same M4A1's as Mario.

"Did you get that off of a Guard?" I asked.

"Sadly, yes" He replied. "Come on, get up amigo. I need to show you around." I slowly got up and fixed my clothes. On a nearby coat rack hung my coat. I walked over to it, took it off the rack, and put it on. I realized that my belt was empty, and the Python was nowhere in sight.

"Where is my gun?" I suspiciously asked.

"We have it in the arsenal. We will give it to you once we know for sure you are not, how should I say, loco." He said with a smile. I walked towards him and he gestured for me to follow him. He opened a door and ushered me out. Outside I saw a whole courtyard with busy, and armed, people. on the side there were two Jeeps parked. Along with them was a shelf of guns, pistols, and grenades. There was even an RPG leaning on the side.

"What do you need all this for?" I asked.

"To be ready." He replied.

"For what?" I said.

"To fight"
