Pete's POV
I'm going to start putting ☆ in front of triggering parts ok go on lovelies

It was getting slightly darker the more I walked. I just wanted to go home and be in Patrick's arms.
What is Patrick thinking? I thought, getting scared. I started running in the opposite direction to just find more darkness. I finally just gave up and sat down.
You're so pathetic. He's probably dead and you lived because you're selfish.
What? Why would he die? And where am I?
You're in a coma, stupid. He probably commited suicide because you wanted to die and he couldn't bear to lose you. He loves you and you shoot him down all the time because you're selfish. He just wants you to be with him and you won't. Selfish. Worthless. Stupid.
STOP IT! HE IS NOT DEAD AND HE WILL BE OKAY!
I stood up and ran. I just ran in a random direction. I will get to the bottom of this.

Patrick's POV

It's been a week and no change. Camp ends in a week and a half and I've been sleeping in the waiting room, waiting for Hayley to give me the daily news and still nothing. Until today. As I awoke with Brendon next to me, Hayley ran up to me.
"Pete has a good chance of waking up within the next week! His chance of surviving is 60% and he should wake up by Friday!" I shot up.
"Really?! Can I go see him?!" She nodded excitedly. I woke Brendon up and told him everything. He was ecstatic.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go see him!" I took his hand and we ran with Hayley into his room. Upon entering, he looked like a ghost. I quickly sat down on his bed and held his hand.
"Pete, you can't hear me, but I just want you to know I love you so much and I hope you wake up so I can hold you. You mean so much to me and if you'd wake up that would be amazing." I got closer to him and stroked his cheek a bit. I sat in the chair next to him and Brendon gave his speech.
"Pete, you're my best buddy. I've been good friends with you since the day we met on the first day of camp. If you'd wake up and be with Patrick I would be very happy." He sat in the chair next to me and I held Pete's hand again. His head was bandaged and he had a permanent frown on his face. I took a pen out of my pocket and drew a heart on his cheek. Hayley smiled and took the pen away from me.
"Hold still Patrick," she said as she drew a heart on my cheek too and did the same to Brendon. He took out his phone and took a selfie with us.
"This is the cheesiest day of my life," I said. He smiled.
"Me too." I suddenly became very thirsty.
"N-nurse Hayley?" I asked as she scribbled something on her clipboard in the corner.
"Yeah Patrick?" I gulped down whatever liquid that was in my mouth,
"Do you h-have any water?" She nodded and walked out of the room. She came back with 2 cups of cold, refreshing ice water and gave them to Brendon and I. We drank quickly and put the cups on Pete's bedside table. I held Pete's hand again and rubbed it softly, hoping he'd wake up. Hayley opened the door and walked about halfway out.
"If you need anything, press the big blue button on that remote over there. I'm going to give you your privacy." And with that, her noisy heels and her were out. I sighed. Brendon looked at me with worry.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I shook my head a little, my eyes welling up in tears.
"W-w-what if he nver w-wakes up?" I barely stuttered out as Brendon rubbed my back. He signaled me to sit on his lap, of course I took his offer. He rocked me slightly just as Pete did in the bathroom that night. I started shaking.
"I-I can't b-breathe!" I yelled, gasping for air intensly. Brendon started freaking out and slammed down on the blue button.
"Just breathe 'Trick, I'm here," he cooed. Hayley ran in.
"What's the problem?!" She asked frantically. Brendon pointed at me.
"He's having a panic attack!" She looked at me and ran out. She came back with a folded cot, a cup of water, and bedding. She unfolded the cot next to Pete's bed and moved the chair. She made my bed and Brendon set me on it. I drank the water very slowly. I held Pete's lifeless hand very tightly now, so much that it was almost completely white. Hayley noticed this and lightly touched my wrist.
"Let go a bit, hold Brendon's hand." I nodded hesitantly and held it very tightly. Brendon squealed.
"Ow!" He yelled. I released a bit.
"S-sorry." He patted my back.
"I just want Pete to wake up so I can kiss his stupid face," I said quietly. Brendon looked at me sympathetically.
"He will soon."

This chapter is very short but I just wanted to update something, I've been working on dysphoria for a while and I forgot about this one. So, 877 words for you. -Matthew
