He & She

Chapter 2

"So when do you think it'll be?" Ahmed asked sitting cross legged on my bed, eating my tub of cookie dough ice cream!

"Summer holidays is in a month. So that would be a nice time. A summer wedding." I said zoning out and picturing it all. " plus all our family from everywhere would be able to make it because it is the holidays!" I added before grabbing the ice cream from Ahmed's hand.

"Yea, that's true. Or do you think that's too soon?" Ahmed asked Sanaa with raised eyebrows.

"No! That's not too soon!" She eagerly burst out and then tried to compose her self by clearing her throat and saying in a much calmer tone, " a summer wedding should be fine, seeing as how it would be convenient for everyone." Ahmed and I exchanged amused glances before bursting out laughing at an embarrassed Sanaa. Boy was my sister in love!

We were currently in my room, trying to predict the outcome of the wedding date meeting that our parents were having with Kumail's parents at his house. How I wish it was here, at our house! Then at least we wouldn't be in such suspense at was was being decided.

"We're home!" Our parents called out from the front door. Sanaa and I squealed before rushing to get all the news from them.

"Salaam Alaykum mummy and papa, umm any news?" My adorable sister asked eagerly, trying to put on a calm front and failing miserably at it.

" well isn't someone eager?" My mum said with a teasing smile towards Sanaa.

"Mum, if this was about anything else, I definitely would be on board with teasing Sanaa and torturing her with the suspense. But this is different! Tell us exactly what happened." I pleaded, looking expectantly towards my parents.

"With the grace of Allah, our house this summer is going to blessed with a wedding!" My dad announced,and within seconds, we were all huddled up in one big group family hug. I whispered a silent prayer to Allah thanking him for first blessing me with an amazing family, and then blessing us with the happiness of Sanaa's wedding.
