Three hours and ten boxes later, I had finally unpacked everything. Dad and Anne came home about an hour ago, dropping off the last of my things. Dad had asked if I had spoken to the boys, and I told him the truth that I hadn't left my room, and he just walked away, which is odd because he would've customarily said something about it.
Although, I have heard the boys running throughout the house and being loud. They all have different tastes in music, and they have a secret competition called "Who's Music Can Be The Loudest?" It ended up being a massive mash-up of all my favourite songs. At first, it wasn't enjoyable, but I grew to like it.
After Dad checked on me, Anne came in to see if I was genuinely okay and handling the move. She also stated that she would be starting dinner in about an hour. So I decided to head downstairs to see if Anne wanted or needed help with dinner as it has been "about an hour." I managed to find the foyer and just stood there, performing a complete circle, looking for any signs saying "Kitchen - This Way."
"Where is the kitchen?" I mutter to myself.
I try to sniff around to see if I could smell anything cooking, but nothing.
I hear a deep laugh from above me, and I look up to see Harry laughing at me while leaning over the railing.
"Lost?" he asks.
"Uh...yeah..." I replied, looking around at the doors.
"I'm guessing the kitchen?" he says while strolling down the left white marble staircase.
Oh yeah, there are two staircases, one on the left and one on the right. They create a little balcony which was where Harry was before.
"Yeah, good guess..." I reply awkwardly. I barely talk to Harry, and when I do, it's about Denisa, my best friend. I think he fancies her.
"Well, you were sniffing, so I guessed," he laughed, turning his back to walk down a hallway.
That was embarrassing.
"Well... are you going to follow me, or are you just going to stand there sniffing all day?" he says, turning back to me.
"I'm coming. Calm your farm," I reply, following Harry.
"So...when is Denisa going to come over?" he asks, trying to make some form of conversation.
"Well, I thought that she could come over sometime this week." I casually say. "How long have you liked her for?" I ask, seeing if I could catch him.
"Too long," He mutters, turning to look at me but quickly realizes what he said and looks forward, hiding a blush.
"I knew it!" I shout and jump at the same time.
"Lower your voice!...okay! Yes, I do like her! But you are the only one that knows it! So shut your mouth!" he says, covering my mouth with his hand.
I grab his hand and pull it away from my mouth, shooting him a quick glare choose a random door to open, hoping it's the kitchen. It would be awkward if this weren't the door to the kitchen.
But luck must be on my side.
"Hey Anne," I say, smiling, "Do you need any help?"
"Uh...no, I'm alright," she replies, smiling back.
"Are you sure?" I ask just in case.
"I'm positive," she replies. "I'll call you down to help me set up if you want to?"
"I would love to," I smile.
"Wow, I like having you here!" she laughs. "The boys never help! They only come out of their room if they need to pee or want food."
I laugh with her. "I'll see you soon then," I say.
"You sure will."And with that, I went back to my room, trying my hardest not to get lost.
