Chapter 9 - A Date of Destiny

Twilight's P.O.V

Flash and I were walking through the empire.Thankfully,not many ponies were out and about.They would've flocked me like the paparazzi...Wait...they are the paparazzi..Flash put his wing over me,interrupting my thoughts and making me blush.He was blushing too,which made me laugh a bit.
"What's so funny?"Flash asked.
"Nothing,but you know you don't have to put your wing over me if it's making you embarrassed."I said giggling.
"O-Oh..O-"
"I said if it WAS making you embarrassed."
"I-I'm n-not embarrassed its j-just your r-really p-pretty and I'm just n-nervous."He said.I let out a giggle.
"You don't have to be nervous,Flash!Just pretend this is just a normal walk with a friend!W-Wait....did you say I'm p-pretty?"I said but blushed as I processed what he said.Utter silence went between us.
"So where are you exactly taking me?"I asked to break the silence.
"Well,we're on a way to a restaurant,if your hungry."
"Yeah,I actually am."I replied.We walked through a park,the pathway shining with crystals.We ended up at some fancy restaurant.
"Greetings.Welcome to Crystal Cafè,how can I he-"A stallion asked but stopped when he looked at us."Hey,my stallion Flash!I guess you always were good at getting the mares!Ready to head back into the V.I.P spot?"He said.I was surprised he wasn't asking to get a picture of us together or yelling that to bring the paparazzi over.
"Sure.Oh,and thanks Diamond Shine for not brining us much attention."Flash said to Diamond Shine.He just nodded his head and took us to a place,with a window looking at the Crystal heart.
"Man,these seats are comfy!"I exclaimed.
"I know right.I'm glad Diamond Shine got us these seats!If you we're wondering why he wasn't calling attention it's because his brother works with me in the guard and he's my friend,so I asked him.I mean with you being princess and all."
"Flash,that was really sweet of you.Thank you."I said.His face went red and I laughed.The restaurant had a lot of choices for food but I just ordered a hayburger with water.We ate in silence until Flash spoke to me.
"So how is Crystal Bow doing?I figured you would know since you were in the castle."
"Oh yeah,she's doing great."I said.Silence went between us and I figured that Flash was having a hard time starting up a conversation.We just ate in silence and we're both blushing in the awkwardness in the situation.When we were done Flash took me to the edge of the empire and a small path of crystals that had grass growing between it.
"This path was forgotten,but me and Diamond Shine found it a month ago and....well you'll see."He said.We walked down it as it led up a hill.Cherry blossom tree's surrounded the path.He grabbed a flower and but it behind my ear.I felt my face grow hot as I put my head down.The hill went flat as we both sat down.He put his wing over me as we both blushed.Stars were littered in the sky,glowing as bright as the sun.
"Look to the right."He said.I looked over and a beautiful sight laid in front of me.Canterlot glowed in the distance,with lights glazing on the train track.
"You can see Ponyville from here!"I gasped astonished."Flash,this view is amazing!"
"I know.I brought you up here because I knew you would like the view."He said as he smirked."3-2-1."He counted.I was confused about what he was counting about when a clock rung midnight in the distance and fireworks flew in the sky.I gasped in surprise.
"Oh my Celestia!Flash,was this all planned?!"
"Yep.I guess that means the date was a success?"
"No it was terrible,of course it was amazing!"
"Phew,I got worried there.I guess your friend thing advice actually worked."He said."Well,I got to go.I'll take you back to the castle."

We walked back to the empire.He smiled and hugged me with his wings and walked off.I walked in the door and was greeted by a curious Cadence.
"Sooooo how did it go?"She asked.
"I'll tell you then,but I need to go tell Spike I'll be here another day,he doesn't know the sudden change of plans."I said."See you later!"I ran to the train station as I waited for a couple minutes and the train pulled off.I sighed in relief,but I wonder what Spike was doing.I swear if he got in the ice cream stash again he will be as good as dead to me...well figuratively not literally.

Ok so yesterday in deviantart I was on a drawing spree,so today I'm going to try to go on a writing spree.Also I'm home sick with the flu.It freaked sucks...being sick with the flu
