Chapter 4: Paralyzed

~Evans' House - Carlos' POV~

"He's four.. Just to let you know.." Kayleigh said. She kept staring at him. The boy kept hugging my leg. Wait.. He's the boy from the store! He looked up at me with a big smile upon his face.

I stared down at the little 4 year old boy in front of me.

-He had my hair.

-Brown eyes like mine and her's.

-Light tan skin.

-He was 50% me and 50% her.

-100% us.

I looked up at her with worried and amazed eyes.

"Carlos.." She started. "This is Brayden... He's your son.." She sighed. I looked at Kayleigh then at Brayden. I bent over and picked him up. Kayleigh bit her lip and looked down. I smiled a little at Brayden and held him close.

"Daddy!" He giggled and hugged my neck. I chuckled and looked at Kayleigh. She looked up at me.

"Why didn't you tell me? I would have stayed if you said you were pregnant.." I told her. All she did was run over and hugged my side, crying a little. I rubbed her back and held onto Brayden.

"Sshh, Kayls.." I whispered. I knew it would calm her down. It always did.Then I heard a click of a camera. I looked up and saw Gabbi. I shook my head as I chuckled.

"First family photo.. I knew you would have wanted one." She said and I smiled.

"Yea. I would have." I said and kisses Brayden's head then Kayleigh's head. Then I remembered that the guys were next door and I was dating Alexa.

"Carlos? ..Carlos? ..Carlos Pena!" I heard Kayleigh and Gabbi call my name. I blinked a couple of times.

"What? Huh? Oh.. Sorry." I said as they giggled.

"It's okay, Los." Gabbi said.

"Just wanted to let you know that.. Little man fell asleep on your shoulder." Kayleigh said as she pointed to Brayden, a smile was on her face. I looked at him and smiled.

"He's adorable when he's asleep. Just like you. You are his role model, ya know.." Kayleigh said as she laid her head on my chest. I smiled.

"I'm a role model.. To him?" I asked and looked at Brayden. I smiled, again and kissed his forehead. Kayleigh smiled and looked at Brayden. I looked at her, then she looked up at me. We stared into each other's eyes and we locked them. I could hear Gabbi take another picture as I wrapped my arm around Kayleigh. She smiled up at me, not taking her eyes off of me. I smiled back and trying not to lean in. I wanted to kiss her. Four years without her kisses was death to me.

"Daddy?" I heard a soft little voice say. I looked at Brayden as he started opening his eyes.

"Yea buddy?" I asked. He looked at me and kissed my cheek.

"I wuv you, daddy. Never leave me or mommy?" He asked with that puppy dog look on his little face.

I smiled; "I love you, too buddy and I will never leave you or mommy. I promise." I said and kissed his head. He smiled and hugged my neck, laying his little head on my head. I smiled and heard the guys.

"Yo Los! Where are you?!" I heard Logan and James yell. Brayden held onto me more. Kayleigh gave me that look when she gets mad.

"I got it." I mouthed to her and handed her Brayden. He hugged her and I started walking back to the guys.

"Daddy.." I heard Brayden say in a sad voice. I felt guilty now. I just told my son I wouldn't leave him and here I am walking away from him.

"Buddy, daddy is just gonna go get his friends, okay?" I heard Kayleigh say to Brayden.
