Why Now!?

Ben POV
I'm outside my first class, waiting for Evie, Jay, and Carlos.
Today was the day, I'm confident yet so nervous. I play around with the velvet box in my pocket for a while until I see the VKs coming towards me.
Evie starts to clap her hands, " I'm so happy, Ben, you're finally asking Mal to marry you! I can't wait, you have to let me plan the wedding okay." Evie begged.
" woah, come down there, Ben still needs to ask." Jay said.
" Hey, you should also thank me on Carlos over here, almost spoiling the secret by telling Mal just now." Jay protested.
I smiled and rolled my eyes, " Thank you Jay." I said, we laughed. We started planning the whole thing when we heard screaming and gasping.
We started walking to the commotion that had started, we saw a huge crowd around some one, as I got closer I saw a pair of horns, oh no!
I pushed my way forward with the rest, I got to the front and there, I saw Mal and Maleficent.
" Mal!" I yell out.
Maleficent turns around and smirks. She steps behind Mal and raps her had around her neck.
Mal struggles to release from her grip, tears fall from her face, I pull out a necklace(Pic on top) and start running towards her green smoke begins to firm around them I slip the necklace in her hand and then she disappears.
I fall to my knees, everything is so quiet, I stare at the empty space in front of me.
Evie, Jay, and Carlos run up behind me and pull me up and they start guiding me towards Mal and Evie's dorm room.
