Prologue <Outsider's Point of View>
Maddie and Chloe laughed as they their first drawing on the chalkboard of their new and huge tree house. Chloe was using a purple piece of chalk while Maddie used a pink one. They were at opposite sides of the house, trying to keep their drawings a surprise from each other.
"I'm done!" Maddie squealed in excitement. Meet Maddie Ziegler, the nine-year-old girly girl who loved to dance, sing, and hang out with Chloe. She had long, wavy brown hair and bright blue eyes that were to die for. Her favorite color was pink, which went perfectly with Chloe's favorite color.
"Me too!" Chloe exclaimed, a huge smile across her face. Meet Chloe Lukasiak, the ten-year-old girly girl who loved to dance, read, and hang out with Maddie. She had long, pin-straight blonde hair with dark brown eyes. Her favorite color was purple, which matched with Maddie's pink.
"Ok, we'll do a countdown to see each others," Maddie said, putting her pink chalk into the chalk bucket.
"Ok," Chloe agreed, placing her purple chalk in her chalk bucket.
"3," Maddie started.
"2," Chloe continued.
"1!" both the girls yelled, then ran to the other chalkboard. Both of them happend to say the same thing; "Will you be my bestest friend in the whole entire world?"
Maddie grabbed a pink piece of chalk out of Chloe's bucket and wrote, "Yes!" next to the question. Chloe grabbed a purple piece of chalk out of Maddie's bucket and wrote, "Yes!" next to the question. After they finished, they both hugged each other.
"Ok, we need to lay down some laws," Maddie said after they pulled apart. "We have to share everything, know everything, and do everything together. No revealing secrets to others."
"I agree," Chloe said with a smile, then giggled as she continued. "best friend." Maddie giggled with Chloe.
Oh, how innocent they were. They won't stay like that for long. Not long at all.
