I notice that Kamber seems distracted at lunch, Kriss must notice too. We don't talk much but Kriss and I keep glancing at Kamber.

"What are you thinking about?" Kriss finally asks. Alex and I turn to listen, Kamber jerks up in surprise.

"Nothing," She says. The three of us exchange a look, we don't believe her.

Amelia pulls me up, I'm hanging off the edge of a cliff. I hug her, "Thanks," I say gratefully. Amelia smiles, "No problem, one of us has to be the knight in shinning armor and I don't think it's going to be you so that leaves me."

She looks beautiful, "We have to go." Amelia says. I frown, "Why?" She sighs and glances at her watch, her eyes bug out. "No time to explain." She gasps, she grabs my hand and we run.

"Dawson?" I here Kriss' voice from a long way away. I jump when something touches my arm.

It's just Kamber, "What are you?" She asks, her eyes are bright and she looks excited. I frown, what?

"What do you mean?" Kriss asks, "I mean what are you? You just had a vision, didn't you?" Kamber is grinning. "What are you talking about?" I ask.

"I get them too." She says. I continue staring at her. She might know! She might know what I am!

"We shouldn't talk about this here." Kriss says. I nod, "Meet us at Kriss' house after school." I tell her, the three of us stand up and leave the caff.

"Do you think she knows what I am?" I ask. Alex shrugs but Kriss is thinking hard. "She might but she might also be something else, she could be a hunter." We look at each other.

"Do you think she could be dangerous?" I ask. Alex looks troubled. He hasn't said a word since well, Alex doesn't say much anymore.

"Kamber." I look over at Alex and then look around, expecting for her to be standing near us. No one is standing near us.

Alex looks at us with a weird look on his face, "Her name is Kamber, which you remembered until you realized she wasn't a regular person. Does that mean anything to you? If it doesn't remember that you are like her, Dawson. You are no more than a him." I stare at him, when did Alex come to think so deep? I'm glad he is, he's my best friend.

"You're right," I say. "Kamber." Alex smiles, I smile back. I wonder if Alex feels Amelia's death maybe more than the rest of us. I never really thought they were close but maybe they were.

"If Kamber is dangerous then so are you," Alex continues, "So I wouldn't worry cause dude there are things that are way more dangerous than you." I laugh, "Thanks man." Kriss rolls her eyes and mutters something that sounds a lot like "boys!" I smirk at her.

"Should we have a plan or something in case Kamber isn't on our side?" I ask. Alex and Kriss look at each other, "No," Kriss decides, "We'll only get paranoid."

We look at each other, now what?

Kriss' parents aren't home so that makes things easier for us. My heart is pounding, I'm going to find out what I am. All the questions I've had over the last few months are going to answered.

But Amelia won't be here to see it.

Kamber knocks on the door, Kriss goes to get it and brings Kamber up to her room. "So who are you?" I ask. Kamber shrugs, "Kamber Cecily Tenebris." We look at each other.

Then she looks at us, "Who are you?" Kriss speaks first, "Kriss Evana Aeras." Alex looks at me before answering, "Alexander Harold Nero." Kamber turns her gray eyes to me.

"Dawson Joel Martin." I tell her. "Really?" She asks. I nod, Kriss is frowning. I wish I could read her mind, "Tenebris," Kriss mutters. "Dark." Kamber looks taken aback, "Excuse me?"

I'm confused too, what does dark have to do with anything. "Tenebis means dark in Latin." Alex looks at Kriss in shock, "You speak Latin?" He asks. Her face flushes, "Amelia taught me, we all speak Greek but that's about it."

Kamber looks at us, "You naturally understand Greek?" She asks. Alex laughs, "Nah, we get taught Greek when we are little. Any other languages are optional like for any normal person."

"So you know what I am?" Kamber asks, she doesn't know? "We are element children." Kriss says, "I am a child of the air, Alex a child of the water and Amelia, she was a child of the all four elements." She glances at me, "You and Dawson are something different. We aren't sure what, we were hoping you would know."

We all look at each other, now what?

"So we are sitting in Kriss' bedroom unsure of what Dawson and Kamber are but we just asume that they are something because they have visions?" Alex asks.

"Wait, I can also for some reason produce lightning." I say, "Can you do that?" I ask Kamber. She shakes her head, "I don't think so."

So we stare at each other again.

"What the hell do we do now?" Kamber asks. "Well now all we know is that there are at least two of you, so we have gotten no where." Alex says. Kriss laughs, "Pretty much."

Suddenly we are all laughing so hard that it will be almost impossible to stop.

I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.

"Do you know Noah Skotadi?" Kamber asks, we nod. "Sure, he goes to our school." Kamber tells us about the deal Noah offered her.

"Should I accept?" Kamber asks. We look at each other, "I don't know." I say. Kamber frowns, "He gave me two days to decide." She says.

"Maybe say yes to start and if things go badly or something you can quit." Alex suggests. We nod, Kamber frowns. I hope she's really okay with this.

"Well at least he's good looking," She says finally, "It would be worse if he was ugly." Kriss laughs. Girls are some of the strangest creatures on the Earth.

Kriss' sister must have come home, the door slams. Kamber jumps and her legs slide off the bed, her feet hit the shadow on the floor and she disappears. Literally disappears.

Kriss let's out a little scream, Alex and I look at each other.

"What the hell?" Alex's words sum up everything.

There's a thud and Kamber is sitting on the floor behind the door. Her face is pale, paler than usual.

"What the bloody hell happened?" Kamber gasps. Alex's jaw has dropped, Kriss has a weird look on her face; something between awe and shock.

"Damn girl," Kriss mutters, "I can fly but teleportation would be fantastic." Kamber looks at Kriss, "What the hell? You can freaking fly? I can what? Teleport? What the hell is going on?" She stands up and brushes herself off.

"This is shit, I can fall through shadows? Why can't I be a normal person!" She grumbles. Kriss and Alex look at each other, "Believe me, we know what it's like to want to be normal." Alex says.

Kamber's face flushes, "Sorry," She mutters .

I try not to judge her, I mean we don't know what she went through. For all we know her life has been much like Amelia's was. She might have been on the run too.

We look at each other, "So we have a plan, for now" Alex says.

He's right.

For now.
