If you're reading this magazine, you may be a hardcore science fiction fan, or you may simply wish to poke your head in and see what this genre's all about. Either way, y'all have done your fair share of reading, so why not get a chance to write? FP Tevun Krus is giving you the opportunity to enter our very first contest! Winners will have their story showcased in the next issue of the magazine, displayed for all of Wattpad to read.
To enter, write up a 1000-2000 story that starts with the words, "They came out of nowhere." Upload your story (either as an individual book or a chapter in your short story book is fine) and private message @FPTK_Contests with the words "contest entry" and then the URL to your story. The deadline is September 3, giving you two weeks to get writing.
The story will be judged by some of the magazine staff according to several different aspects:
1. You must follow the prompt (start with the quote above) and your story must stick to the current magazine's theme: first contact. Think aliens, otherworldly planets, spaceships, etc., but be creative, of course!
2. As always, we expect exceptional spelling and grammar.
3. 1000-2000 words may feel like too short an amount to tell a good story, but do the best that you can.
4. Be original. Don't try to copy famous works - explore instead. Show what you have to contribute to the Sci-Fi genre.
