I wake up the next day with a shock. Well it was more like a shake. Papa shook my body endlessly until I woke up. "Papa what are you doing?" I asked with lethargy and rubbing my tired eyes. "It's your birthday Harmony! And I got you a very special surprise." Oh yeah, a special surprise from papa, he doesn't even know my favorite color... How could he possibly know what to get me for my birthday.
All I want for my birthday is a friend and I don't think papa can make that wish come true. He rushes downstairs quickly to get the "special surprise" and comes upstairs once again. Except this time it was with a thud. Yep you guessed it. My intelligent father bumped his head on the door frame. Instead of groaning in agony (like he usually would) he just says, "I'm okay!" And grasps his head shutting his eyes closed (like he usually does). Then he hands me a shiny velvet box with a scarlet bow. On the box it reads, "Happy birthday Harmony!!!!!" With all five explanation points I might add. I smile faintly and quickly open the box. Inside is a mirror.
Lemme guess, he got me this to boost my self confidence.
"Do you like it Harmony? I got it to help boost your self confidence a little."
Bingo!
Little did I know that the gift papa have to me was what I wanted all along.
