My alarm clock woke me up at 6:19. I quickly pulled aside the covers and I put on my Star Wars t-shirt and a pair of black leggings. Mis-matching socks (of course) and my glasses. Fully dressed- without a smile. The smell of bacon and pancakes fill the air, papa is trying to make me feel better. I really appreciate him trying to help but nothing would cheer me up for what I was about to go through. I stomp downstairs- heavy footed and sit at the table. It was covered with smoked maple bacon, whole wheat pancakes with blueberry flavored syrup, and my favorite fruit in the entire world, peach slices. For the twenty minutes we were eating I was actually happy. I forgot all about school and what happened to mom and I was excitedly conversing with papa. But then it was time to go. "Seven twenty, ready for school kiddo?" I just make a fake smile, and nod. I've never told my parents about how I feel, and what Carrie and her friends make me go through. I dart upstairs to get my backpack leaving behind "To Kill a Mockingbird" as an excuse for why I didn't get it done. I quickly brush out my long, brown, thick hair out. One less thing for the girls at school to make fun of. Beep! Beep! Dad honks the car horn. I put down the brush and dash downstairs. I grasp the car's handle biting my lip.
