I slugged slowly into my house after a long day after work. At least my lovely girlfriend, Molly will be at home. I opened the door and an eerie feeling came upon me. I seeped up the steps as all you heard from the house was the creak of my footsteps.
"Let me go!" I heard Molly scream. I called 9-1-1 and set my phone next to the door. I bravely bursted through it as I saw the last thing I could ever imagine. A man with a black ski mask had Molly at gun-point. If there is anything I have learned to do in these situations, it would be to call 9-1-1 and let them hear the conversation.
"Don't you move!" The man shouted pointing the gun at my head. "Why are you doing this? We have no money!" I said calmly. "Doesn't matter, you need to--" Before he could finish the sentence Molly kneed him in the crotch and ran to the other side of the room.
She reached for the gun but the man got it first and stood up slightly groaning. "We don't want to make you angr--" Were my last words right before everything came crashing down.
He shot me right in the head.
I heard police sirens already there and policemen were knocking down our door with their foot, before I could even think. "M--Molly..." I stuttered. She ran over to my side, from what I could hear and cried, "It'll be okay!" "No, Molly. I love you so much and I just-- want you to be happy." I croaked.
I could feel myself slowly drifting off of where the pain hurt and onto the other side. There was a bright light in the corner of my vision but I chose to fight it for a few more seconds.
"Molly, find someone else. I want him to make you as happy as I made you. I love you so much, never forget me." Were my exact last words before the bright light took over me.
I suddenly looked down upon the scene and saw the police running over to the man and dragging Molly out of the room. I saw my body being put in one of those body bags and Molly weeping her eyes out on someone's shoulder.
He comforted her, kind of like how I used to comfort her. Whoever the man was, he was good. They took her down to the police station and right as he got in the car behind her, I saw his blonde hair and bright blue eyes, full of life.
Maybe he can help mend her. If not her heart, at least make this case closed.
