Chapter 19: Confrontation (Part 3)
SHONE’S POV
“Shone… What should I do? Hindi naman kami ganito dati ni Bench, diba? You know that…” nakapalumbaba na sabi ni Xionnen. Pinilit niya ako na payagan syang mag-stay dito sa photo shoot.
“I know. At sasabihin mo na naman na kasalanan ni Ianne ang lahat ng nangyayari sa inyo ni Bench ngayon, right?” uninterested kong sabi. I heard her sigh. It’s because iyon na naman for sure ang magiging bukambibig niya… kung gaano sya naiinis dahil kinailangan pang bumalik ni Ianne.
“Ganon na ba ako ka-pathetic for you?” malungkot niyang sabi. I tried to focus in doing my work pero hindi ko naman mapabayaan si Xionnen na nade-depress ng ganito. I’m her only friend.
“Not really. Yun nga lang, everytime na lang na may problema kayo ni Bench, lagi na lang si Ianne ang sinisisi mo… don’t you think it’s Bench’s fault also?” I said then looked at her. Kaibigan ko silang tatlo nina Bench at Ianne, but I think their twisted fate now has no other way out.
“Alam kong bestfriend mo si Ianne, Shone…. I’m sorry because you have to listen to me saying bad things about her..” nasasaktan din naman ako every time that Xionnen blamed Ianne for all her misfortunes. Syempre, matalik kong kaibigan si Ianne… but at the same time, listening to Xionnen is the only thing that I can do for her…. for not telling the truth.
“Kaibigan din naman kita, Xionnen… that’s why I’m going to be honest with you…” I decided to do my work later and I pull my chair closer to her.
“What’s that?” she asked, almost a whisper. Kinakabahan sya sa kung anuman ang sasabihin ko sa kanya…
“I know… knowing the truth will hurt you… but Bench and Ianne…. they have…..” I cannot make up my mind. Should I tell Xionnen about the secret of Ianne? Na… Na si Tribal ay anak talaga ni Bench…? That her one and only love already has a son?
“They have something special that no one can replace. Nakita naman natin pareho noon kung gaano sila nagmamahalan diba? They love each other so much that we never thought they will be destroyed. Until now… hindi pa rin iyon nagbabago. Don’t be blind Xionnen.” matagal ko na talaga gustong sabihin kay Xionnen ang totoo but if I do that, I would have to betray Ianne… I cannot do that. I have to shut up and let the truth reveal itself to the world.
“Shone, hindi mo pa rin ba naiintindihan hanggang ngayon? Matagal na ang part na iyon nina Bench at Ianne! matagal na silang tapos! Ako na ang mahal ni Bench so please…” alam kong niloloko lang ni Xionnen ang sarili niya. She’s also trying to convince herself that she is the only one in Bench’s heart.
