Cara's POV

I pulled out a tub of chocolate chunk fudge Ice cream when the doorbell rang. I dropped the spoon. Is he here? Oh god. I can't let him see me eating this big thing. I shoved it back into the freezer, wiped my mouth and ran to the door.

"Chris, I-" I opened the door but it wasn't Chris. It was my best friend Zach.

"Were you expecting someone?" She grinned.

"No. Um, Maybe." I opened the door wider. "How'd you get here?"

"I was at Josephine's house when she had to go. My mom said she couldn't pick me up until 5 so I decided to come over here." Zach headed over to the kitchen and pulled out the tub of Ice cream.

"Are you in a sharing mood?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

I sighed. "Well, I suppose-"

She playfully shoved me. "Awh, come on. I'll buy you more later."

I followed her to the couch with two spoons and we sat watching Skins on Netflix.

"I heard Jess is back."

"Not for long." I mumbled

"Why what happened."

"I think the principle set me up. I'm in class and she walks in and sits near me. The principle knows the beef between us. Don't you think he would make sure Jess and I don't cross paths during the day?"

"Technically. It's not her problem." She said between spoonfuls. "I mean. You two should apologize and get over it."

"It's not that easy." I mumbled

"I was there, Cara." She chuckled. "I saw the pics, the videos, the whole nine yards. But you got to forgive her at some point. I mean, I forgave my mom." She shrugged like I knew what she was talking about.

"Forgave her for what?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"For giving me a dude's name. Now guys think I'm lesbian. It sucks."

"Don't you have a boyfriend?"

"Who Rich? Nope. He cheated on me with Lesly."

"Her name tho." I laughed. It was a bit ironic. Zach looked confused but then she laughed.

"Let's get drunk." Zach smirks at me. I smirk back. She stands up and walks to the alcohol cabinet.

"Hey, yo mama got any alcohol in here?"

"Of course. She's a certified alcoholic." I stood up and walked to out large selection of alcohol. All my mom does is drink. She comes home. Drinks.

She goes to sleep with a burning cigarette and a half empty bottle of Vodka slipping from her fingers.

"Damn. I think your mom did some shopping over the holidays, yeah?"

"Maybe a bit too much." I grabbed 4 small bottles of Courvoisier.

"Zach, grab the Chocolate whipped vodka and-"

Zach held up the bottle.

"Yeah that. That's my favorite. And the Uzo. Yeah wait. Wait get the Hennessey too." We were both laughing as we wrapped the big bottles in a paper bag and shoved them in Zach's green book bag.

We ran out of my house like it was on fire and walked to the grocery store right down the block. Before we entered we threw back the 4 small bottles of Courvoisier. In the parking lot I managed to find a cart that was not located inside the store. I'm about to walk inside when Zach grabs my arm.
