Chris's POV
All those years I spent staring at Cara and last night she was in my bedroom. I was between her legs. Her tongue was in my mouth. My hands were on her thighs. I wish she'd stayed but I knew it would be too much to ask.
I woke up happier than usual. Even though it was a Tuesday and I still had school. I was happy to see her. I had dreamt about her too. She was mine. We were walking through the halls, our fingers locked, smiling. We owned the kingdom.
"Why are you so happy," Lori sneered as I walked into the kitchen.
"You're always in here. Eating. You're gonna get fat." I say as I open the fridge and take out a carton of milk.
"Good! That way I can sit on you and I finally won't have to hear you bitch."
I chuckle at her joke and sit on the counter as I drink the milk straight out of the carton.
"Did you see dad come in last night?" Loir asks as she pours eggs into the pan.
"No. I never see him." Which was the truth. The only time I see my dad is when he takes the time out of his oh-so-busy say to explain to me how much of a disappointment I am.
"Okay."
"Why?"
"I don't know. It would be nice to see him every once and a while." She mumbles as she stirs the eggs. I hop off the counter and kiss her on the cheek.
"Happy birthday sis."
She doesn't say anything but I know she's smiling. I'm not dad, Lori. I didn't forget. I'm about to go upstairs to get changed when I hear a knock at the door.
I jog to it and open it, expecting my cousins but instead seeing a girl I've never stopped thinking about. I let out a breath and lean against the door frame.
"Hi," I smirk at her.
"Hey." She smiles but she looks nervous.
"Do you want to come in?" I take a step back. She looks at me then behind me then shakes her head.
"No. I just came by to say thank you."
I furrow my eyebrows. "For?"
"Helping me and Zach last night. That was really nice of you. So I just wanted to stop by and say thanks." She sounded nervous. It excited me.
"Okay. It's fine. But seriously come in."
"No. I really can't. Plus you have to get ready for school."
"I'm ready." I shrug.
Her eyes move from my face to my naked chest down to my blue pajama pants.
"Plan on going to school shirtless."
"Eh. Maybe." I shrug. "You can help me get ready." I joke as I grab her arm and pull her into my house.
"It's Lori's birthday." I whisper in her ear as I close the door behind us. She looks up at me with her big beautiful green eyes and smiles.
I watch as she walks into the kitchen and gives Lori a big hug. They're both laughing and smiling. Cara has a pretty smile. Straight white teeth, and full lips. I can't help but smile when she does. Her presence in general makes me smile. Lori and Cara are still talking when I see Cara turn her head just enough to see me. Her eyes look at the floor then at me and I catch her smile just before she looks back at Lori.
I walk over to Cara and touch the back of her arm just enough for her to notice me. She turns her head just a little, but I'm too close behind her for her to turn. I move a few strands hair away from her ear.
