Chapter 4

Chapter 4:

Athena's POV

"W-w-why not?" His voice sounded so hurt.

"Because I'm trying to get back home and I'm becoming weaker by the days."

"I thought you might wanna stay here... With me."

"I want to but I feel like I'm not going to be able to go to heaven if I stay here. I'm scared."

"But I'm here for you." He embraces me into his large arms. I cry and grip on his shoulder. He pulls back and looks deep into my eyes. I wanted to never let go of him. I wanted kiss him and keep him with me. I wanted to run away with him and leave everyone behind us. He leans in to kiss me but I pull away.

"I'm sorry Logan. I can't love you."

"I understand." He runs his hands through his hair. He then places them on his lap. "Goodnight Athena." He gets up and walks to his room. He shuts it hard and it makes me jump. I walk to my room and gather my things. I can't stay here anymore. I start to cry but do it silently. I grab all my things and leave a note on the creaky bed. I walk out the room and place my bag down on the ground. I slowly and quietly open the door to his room. He's soundly asleep. He's so beautiful. I love him. I've known him for a while now, through Demi, but never thought I'd fall for him this hard. I write another note and place it on his bed next to him. I kiss his cheek and leave a tear mark on his face. I wipe it off and then walk out and quietly shut the door behind me. I grab my bag and put my shoes on. I take a cab to the park. I walk out and sit on a park bench. I burry my face in my sweats and bring my knees to my face. I take out a pillow and a blanket from my bag and lay down. I put an alarm to wake me up early so I can take a cab to the beach before school and quickly shower in my bikini. I fall asleep after, thinking about Logan.

*ring* *ring* I wake up and check my phone. It's 4:00. I get up and grab my bag. I begin to walk to the street when I see a familiar face. It's Logan. I can't deal with him right now. He runs towards me. I power-walk away but he catches up and stands in front of me. I groan annoyed.

"Athena why'd you leave?"

"Because I can't handle being around you. I feel like crying around you and it makes me think about how I can't love you. Which I mentioned many times so if you could just."

"Athena please. You can't stay in a place like this. You must come home with me."

"No I'm sorry Logan." I start to walk away. But he grabs my arm and spins me around. "Logan please."

"No Athena. Please come back. I won't bother you again with me liking you." His face looks sad but if he is really sacrificing not talking about that and respecting my opinion, how can I say no.

"Fine but take me now coz I need to shower." His frown smiles.

"Thank you." He leans in to kiss my cheek.

"No logan." He backs away.

"Okay let's go."

We walk back to the car silently and the drive also becomes silent. Once we get there I jump out and walk inside the house and into the bathroom shutting the door behind me. I shower then walk out and go to my room. I shut the door behind me. I look through my clothes and decide to wear some dark jeans and a white T-shirt with a navy blue blazer. I put on my white Toms. I walk out and walk to the bathroom. I straighten my hair a little bit and add makeup. I grab my backpack and knock on Logan's bedroom door. He is blasting music.

"Uh-hold on." I hear sniffing. He opens the door and his eyes are red and puffy.

"Hey are you okay?" He wipes his eyes.

"Yeah, of course. You ready for school?"

"Yeah." We both walk out and he drives to school. When we get there Demi approaches the car.

"Hey. Sup kid." I get out the car and walk past her. "What's wrong with you?" Ignore her Athena. Ignore. "Athena! Don't turn your back on me! What the hell is wrong with you?" That's it. I turn around.

"You know exactly! I thought you were my friend! You told "them" my secret." I said the last part quieter.

"Come on Athena! The secret was going to come out anyway. Stop being a b-" she stopped taking before she could say that because I looked at her with my mouth open. I turned around and kept walking. " You need me Athena." I acted like I didn't hear her and walked to class.
