The Park

"Lauren!" I shouted walking into her room.
Lauren quickly looked up from her phone"oh my gosh Dani you scared me what do you want?"
"I'm bored let's go to the park"I said pulling on her arm leading her out of her room. She laughed.
"Dani you are such a ten year old okay fine let me just get my keys" I smiled.
Lauren grabbed her keys and we both walked out the door and into the car. Lauren started the car and turned on the radio as we both danced to the songs. We finally reached the park when I saw a pair of blue eyes, brown hair, and that beautiful face. It was Josh.
"Oh so is this the reason you wanted to come to the park." She said pointing at Josh and smiling. I blushed and hit her arm lightly.
"No! I didn't even know he was going to be here!" I said immediately. She gave me a look showing that she obviously didn't believe me. I just rolled my eyes.
"Can we just go the park, we haven't been here in like forever!" Lauren nodded and got out of the car. When we got out of the car I was about to make my way to the big tree where we usually sit and just talk. But then I turned and to my horror I saw Lauren walking over to the swings where Josh was pushing Rosie. Since I had no choice I ran to catch up to Lauren.
"Oh hey Dani! Hey Lauren!" I couldn't tell if he was blushing but his cheeks were a light pink. He smiled and waved awkwardly. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Hey Josh! Nice to see you!" She nudged me with her arms.
"Oh yeah hi didn't expect to see you here" I said blushing slightly.
Josh nervously laughed and we were all quiet for a minute. Then Lauren cleared her throat.
"Anyway I actually have to go and um fill up the gas in my car and um go shopping for a little bit" Lauren said as I looked at her in horror, "I hope you don't mind if I leave Dani here she kinda needs a babysitter sometimes"
I hit Lauren on the arm and glared at her.
"Uh yeah sure, no problem haha" Josh said nervously. I sighed knowing there was no way out of this. Lauren left and when she saw me glaring at her she just laughed and made a heart with her hands before getting in the car. I rolled my eyes as Lauren left leaving me with Josh.
"So...um" was all Josh said. He said it nervously and it was so cute I couldn't help but smile.
"Haha sorry about Lauren she's strange" I replied with a slight giggle. And as soon as I giggled a smile formed on his lips which made one form on mine. We stood like that for a while.
"Hey!" Rosie said interrupting our moment "why did you stop pushing me!"
"Oh sorry Rose!" Josh said pushing Rosie again. Rosie smiled and enjoyed the pushes from Josh.
"So" Josh said trying to make conversation,"how old are you?"
"I'll be 16 in a couple months, what about you?" I replied.
"16 in two months!" He said smiling. When he smiled I started to smile, he had the cutest smile.
"I'm gonna go and play with James!" Rosie said interrupting our moment again. I looked to where Rosie was pointing and saw James playing in the sandbox. Josh smiled and nodded and Rosie ran to James.
"So since the swings are empty do you wanna sit? I'll push you" Josh said. I nodded and blushed as I sat down. He started to push me and I giggled as it got higher. Once he was done he sat down in the swing next to me. We started talking and I learned a whole lot more about him. It was quiet for a little bit and then all of a sudden Josh grabbed my hand. My eyes widened but then I smiled at our hands and interlaced out fingers. We were quiet, holding hands,blushing, and smiling at each other. It felt absolutely wonderful and I was actually glad that Lauren had left us together. Then all of a sudden my phone rang and Josh quickly let go of my hand. I frowned and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey it's Lauren"
"Oh hi Lauren"
"I just wanted to let you know I'll be at the park in two minutes"
"Okay see you then!"
I put my phone away to see Josh looking down his cheeks a bright red.
"Who called?" He asked
"Oh Lauren she said she'll be here in two minutes"
"Oh okay" was all he said.
"Hey can I see your phone?" I asked. He gave me a confused look and nodded giving me his unlocked phone. I entered my phone number and made myself a contact, I put my contact name as Beyoncé(jk Dani xD). I gave him his phone and he laughed.
"Thanks for your number Beyoncé jk Dani!" He said, I laughed "I'll call or text you some time!" I smiled and slightly blushed. We were again smiling at each other, I saw his hand making its way towards mine.
HONK!!!!
We both looked up to see Lauren honking to get our attention. I got up and was about to go when Josh grabbed my hand.
"Wait! I never got your full name!" Josh said. I smiled.
"My actual name is Danielle not Dani, haha Dani is short for Danielle. But my full name is Danielle Nicole Cimorelli. What's yours?"
He had a look on his face as if he was trying to remember something.
"My full name is Josh Johnson" he said smiling. I smiled and nodded. Lauren honked again which startled us. He surprised me by pulling me into a hug and I smiled and hugged back. We both said goodbye and I walked to the car. I waved goodbye before jumping in and smiled as he waved back.
"Soooo how was it?" Lauren asked
"Okay as much as I hate you it was actually really nice" I responded.
Lauren screamed. "OMG DETAILS!"
I laughed and told her everything, her screaming at some parts. When we got home she stopped the car and looked at me.
"He likes you" she said
"What?! How do you know?" I said.
"Dani are you blind? It's so obvious! I mean why would he hold your hand? Why would he blush every time you spoke? Why would he be really nervous around you? It's so easy to see that he likes you! He likes you and you like him it's cute" Lauren said smiling. I blushed a very deep shade of red and got out of the car, Lauren following me.
All of our family was already at the dinner table waiting for dinner. I had forgotten how hungry I was.
"Where were you?" my mom asked, I didn't keep track of how long we spent there.
"Park" Lauren said simply.
"For that long?" mom asked I was biting my lip and Lauren just nodded and took a seat at the table, I did the same. We both were silent while we waited for dinner.
