That was it. The gravely voice ended it's sentence and the line went dead, leaving everyone with a thousand questions, maybe even millions. Niall groaned defeatedly and slumped in one of the stools at the kitchen bar. Taylor was in the process of wiping down the table area where Bentley had sat and ate his waffle when the doorbell rang. When she opened the door, all of her blood drained from her face, leaving her looking like a ghost.

"Get out of here, Jake."

"Always so sassy." Jake smirked, until he saw Bentley sitting on the ground in the living room. "You told me that you put the little shit up for adoption."

"Don't speak of him in that way. I told you that so you would stay away from us."

"I want to see my son." Jake said through gritted teeth.

"I-I'll call the cops. You can't see him, you signed away your parental rights when I was only five months pregnant." Liam appeared behind Taylor, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Because you fucking tricked me!" Jake burst.

"You wouldn't have stayed and you know it." Taylor said through gritted teeth. Fearing this might get ugly, she turned to Liam, her cheek slightly making contact with his chest. "Take Bentley into my room." She said quietly. "I'll take care of this." Liam left, obeying Taylor's orders.

"Bentley? You named the child after a fucking luxury car brand?" Jake spat.

She turned back to Jake. "You weren't there for me," She said, ignoring him. "The entire pregnancy we fought. Do you know how hard it is to raise a child on your own with no money and zero help from anyone? No! Of course you don't!"

Both of them were getting angrier by the second, and Taylor knew how ruthless Jake could get when he got mad. With his strength overpowering hers, Jake forced himself through the door and into the foyer. Seeing what was going on, Harry got up and made his way over to Taylor's side, fists balled at his waist.

"She told you to leave."

"Harry, stop." Taylor said quietly. Her eyes dropped to the floor, breaking the harsh eye contact she held with Jake's icy blue daggers.

Jake stepped further into the house, eyes surveying the premises for Bentley. "Where did you take him?" He said, getting dangerously close to Taylor.

"Get out." Taylor said with as much courage as could.

Jake quickly brought his hand up and struck Taylor across her cheek. "Where did you take my son!?" He said louder, his face close enough to Taylor's that specks of his saliva splashed onto her face. Taylor wasn't in shock. She simply covered her aching cheek with her hand, as she had so many times before.

Harry shoved him back and Jake came back at him. Taylor was scared for Harry when she saw Jake push him down to the ground and fall down on top of Harry, getting a few good punches in. Harry's anger took over his strength and pushed Jake onto his back in the doorway and sat on Jake's elbow's with his knees so he couldn't move. Louis went rushing over to Harry and tugged at his arm to get him away from Jake.

"Now get the hell out of here and leave them alone." Harry said, slightly out of breath, as he climbed off of Jake.

"I'll be back." Jake said as he slammed the front door.

"Taylor, are you al-" Harry was cut off by Taylor throwing her arms around him and kissing his cheek.

"Thank you." She whispered in his ear. "Lets get you cleaned up." She pulled him over to the sink and wet a paper towel, tending to his wounds. All he had sustained was a bloody nose and busted lip. "It's weird that he shows up now. I haven't seen him since I moved out of his place when I was four months pregnant."
