Penny's pov
When we arrived at the hospital, Alfie had to go ahead and he told us the room number. I felt a lump in my throat form, making harder for me to speak. I stopped walking.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Connor asked.
I breathe in and out, heavily. I shook my head and told Connor that we should go.
We went inside and found the room instantly.
As soon as I saw him, my heart broke. I almost wanted to break down. Zoe saw me and hugged me tightly. I gave her time to calm herself down. She wiped her tear stained cheeks.
"penny, why are you crying?" She stifled a laugh.
"am I?" I laughed, wiping it away.
"Yeah."
She laughed a bit and told me to sit down. I sat down and looked at him. He was my inspiration and I couldn't just let him stay there and rot.
I could see his hand twitching.
"Zoe!" I tapped her shoulder
"Hm?" She responded
" I saw his hand move!"
"Let me get a doctor."
As i was expecting, he opened his eyes. I cheered and Zoe cried.
"Penny?" Joe weakly said.
"Yes?" I said.
"Come here." He commanded.
I did as I was told. He stroked my hair and leaned in to kiss me. I started to kiss back. Zoe wasn't angry because Connor and her agreed that me and Joe would eventually be together. Zoe got out of the room and called a professional to give him tests.
"Penny, the doctor's here!" Zoe shouted, pulling me
away from Joe.

"Penny, will you be my girlfriend?" Joe said, holding my hand.
"I think we should have some time first because this is all too early." I said
"Okay, I'll try."
