Mitch's POV

The next day was Christmas Day, meaning; family time, meaning; there was no way I was seeing Scott.

The day went on as a regular Christmas Day would. We shared gifts, ate too much, listened to Christmas music. The only thing that wasn't regular was that there were no tragedies. Last Christmas, my sister thought her water broke but half way to the hospital she realized she had just peed her pants. Who would that happen to? Why in the world would that even happen? Who in the world thinks their water broke because they peed their pants?

The year before last year was even worse; my boyfriend at the time proposed to me the same day I left for Arlington (we had only been dating for 2 weeks) and I, obviously, said no. He followed me all the way to Arlington and practically stalked me. I had to call the cop and it was honestly pretty awful, and it totally ruined my entire Christmas spirit.

This Christmas though, as a nice change, was actually pretty great. I had a wonderful time with my family and I tried to suck in every little piece of joy that I could. There was a time when I looked at all the members of my family and started to cry. I got so emotional and they all rushed to me asking me what was wrong and I just smiled and told them I was so happy they existed. Christmas brings out a lot of emotions for me, alright?

There was another person whom I was very happy existed too, whom I hadn't seen for only one day but missed very deeply.

You guessed it.

It's Scott. Who else would it be?

I had no clue how the hell this happened nor why it happened. But it sure did happen, and I sure wanted to see Scott more than anything.

When it was late enough and everyone went off to bed, I sent him a text.

To: Scott
From: Mitch
Miss you. Wanna meet?

I instantly received a reply.

To: Mitch
From: Scott
Of course, I'll be at your house in ten?

To: Mitch
From: Scott
Miss you too, btw

I immediately ran down the stairs to get my coat on and as I was about to leave the house, my father interrupted me.

"Where are you going, son?"

"I'm gonna go see Scott, Mike" I received a smile. He loved when I called him by his name, for some reason. I'm pretty sure he smiled for another reason as well, but I tried not to think about that.

"You guys have been spending a lot of time together."

"...we have indeed."

"Just be careful."

"What do you mean?" I said with a confused look on my face.

"You know I love that guy with my whole heart. Always have, always will. Just take care of yourself, alright? Wear protection. Some for your heart, and for other parts."

"Dad, come on!"

"I just mean, you haven't been too careful throughout the past years. Scott is a good guy, and I really like him, which is nice for a change. " I glared at him, letting him know he was going too far. "Just... Don't get hurt, alright?"
