"What?" says Ari.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that." I said. I felt as if  I just got punched in the abdomen. I needed to throw up, I felt like I wanted to jump off of a cliff and die. Die alone, and in peace. I stared at the floor, for what seemed like a millennium, mainly because I was too ashamed to actually look at Ari's face. But then he pushes my chin up with one of his fingers, so I'm looking directly in his eyes. He's got a least six inches on me, making him around six one.
"I love you too." he says. I wanted to jump up and down and scream. Did he really just say that?!
He leans into me, so his light brown hair is touching mine, and his perfectly chiseled nose rubs against mine. We both chuckle, and I lean in closer this time.
"I really do love you Miriam." he says,"Please stay with me." He sounds completely innocuous and loving.
"Of course I'll stay." I say.
The next thing I know, he kisses me. It felt like it lasted forever, and part of me wanted it too. We both pull away at the same time, and when we do the rain turns down to a light drizzle.
"I'll show you to your room then." Ari says smiling.
"Yes, that would be lovely."'I said.
When I walk into the room the sheets are filthy, and there's garbage everywhere.
"I'll help you clean it."' He says, once again looking embarrassed of the mess.
"No, it's quite all right, I'll do it. But thank you for the offer."
He smiles a little, and turns away, walking into what I believe is his room. Well, the first thing I want to do is wash the sheets, or perhaps burn them? While I rip the sheets off of the bed, I yell,"Ari, I'm washing my sheets, would you like me to wash yours as well." No answer. "Ari?" I say once more. I grab my sheets and walk into his room. It's perfectly clean, and well kept. I scream again,"Ari where are you?" Right when I'm about to leave the room, Ari leaps from behind the door,"BOO!" He says.
"AGGHHHH!" I say,"What the hell are you doing?" I say as I slap his arm hard.
"I'm sorry I just wanted to give you one good scare." He says still slightly laughing.
I smile at him and tell him to give me his sheets because I was going to wash them,"Miriam, we don't have a washing machine." He says.
"I know." I say,"I've seen one on my way here. It's only a couple miles away, and I'll be back before sundown." He looks at me intently,"I don't think you should go alone. Something could happen to you."
"Thanks Ari,  but I'll be fine. Plus you have work in a few hours. I'll be back in a couple of hours, I promise."
His light brown hair swoops in front of his face, and his hazel eyes are staring straight into mine.
"Ya, your right. Just be careful though." Ari says anxiously.
"Of course." I say.
